What other changes will be made in Philly?

Recommended Posts

I don't see a point in moving any young players. Looks like a rebuilding year might be in order. They should definitely get rid of some of their D, but who would want them?

The leafs are hurting for D men right now but i dont think there that desperate.

Kubina and Kronwall should be back in 3 weeks tops and I don't see anyone on Philly that fits a need of theirs. Reports Cola may even be ready for one of the MTL games this weekend as well.

The only Leafs D who has been downright bad is Harrison.

I've watched the Flyers a few times this year and I don't think that one move could really solve their problems.

I watched a bit of their game today against TB. They played without any heart, its as if they're purposely screwing up with the amount of giveaways in the game. I'd say change in management before anymore players leave.

Although its still early I think a coaching change would be one of the first things they would need. There is talent there, its just not getting used on the ice. They need a coach that can get the players going.

I'm pretty sure hitchcock just signed like a 3 year deal or something and if that is the case than I don't think he's going anywhere for a while.

Clarke bitched out the Leafs Management for firing Quinn saying a coach with that much success obviously isn't the problem. It basically secured Hitch's job for the summer so I'd say he's safe for a little unless Snyder is the one who pulls the trigger. I'm not a fan of the Flyers goaltending, but they aren't brutal between the pipes. Much better than the Bieser and Hextall days.

I could see them trading one of there Dmen to to Sharks in a package for one of there goalies! They have two great goalies, and would love some experiance on the blue line come play off time, and well philly could get some solid tending!

Maybe even Montreal (at a stretch) they need dmen!

The Sharks can expect a much higher return than one of the benders on the philly blueline for either nabby or toskala, especially with how they are playing now.

I think that even though Hitchcock still has 3 years left is on the verge of getting kicked out.. along with Bobby Clark. Ed Snyder isn't a very patient man and I find he's been very patient for the past year or so. The Flyers need to rebuild. They already have some good young guys. All they need to do is get rid of some veterans like Hatcher who just can't keep up anymore. Forsberg should go too. Don't get me wrong, I love him and he's arguably the most complet player out there when he's healthy but he hasn't been healthy in 3 or 4 years.. if not more. Now he got his wrist injured.. didn't he just get surgery for that in the off season? if so, he may be out for a good while and without Forsberg I'm not sure that Gagne will rack up the points as he did last year....

The bottom line is that they have to do something and they have to do it before it's too late as the season is still very young and it's not impossible to make the playoffs.

I thought forsberg would make at least 15 games before getting injured...now I owe some money.... :P

I don't know if Clarke will ever get fired, and after his douchebag moves, maybe people won't even want to deal with him. He's stuck doing it on his own. Karma is a bitch is all I can say

I am watching the philly game now and I have only noticed one guy showing heart. This ONE guy is Sami Kapanen. If the other guys on the team skated as hard as he did this would be a great team. He wins all the battles to the loose pucks.

isn't philly pretty screwed by the salary cap too? I thought they signed some players (hatcher? forsberg?) to some crazy contracts and they have been handcuffed with the salary cap ever since? and they can't just up and start cutting guys loose because they still count on the cap right?

Rathje and Hatcher account for 7 million (3.5 each) against the salary cap. I think Clarke is kicking himself for getting rid of Zeus. Calder hasn't done shit for this team.

Excuse my language, I'm just pissed with them.

looks like the caught lackofhearticosus from pittsburgh... maybe it was being in such close quarters.

Maybe when hatcher was busy busting up crosby's mouth last season he caught it, and it sat doormat until this season started.
