Graf Question

Recommended Posts

The question shouldn't be what size Graf you would need, but what model you would need.

Due to the different types that is offered in the line, you're better off going to a LHS. Not to mention with MAP pricing, you're not going to find deals online.

Ok, I didnt realize that JR. The sucky thing is no one around carries them, and I tried a consignment pair on where I work and they felt very nice, but were a little big

You would probably be a 7.5r in Graf skates. I wear size 7.5 grafs and when I demo'd the synergy skates, easton's 7.5 fit me perfectly. Like JR said, your best bet is to try on the different models of graf skates to see which one fits your foot type best.

Some stores like eastwesthockey.com offer services like getting them a picture of your foot and they will recommend the Graf skate for you. You might want to look into this.

are the g9 a stiffer skate? They are beautiful skates.

Which skates 609,709 will be a bit softer?

9 series skate:

609 - softest skate - discontinued

709 - stiff skate

G9 - stiffest skate

The 609 is discontinued in North America. Graf Switzerland still makes them but unless you know someone overseas to buy them for you, you're out of luck.

I have 709 Wide plus skates. Yes, my feet are like two pairs of duck feet. One pair stacked on top of the other. If I had webbing between my toes I could probably swim the English Channel. ;)

how about the -07?

the 707 is for "experienced skaters with extreme knee bend" according to www.grafcanada.com.

the xx9 is not only for wide feet, but is also very deep. IIRC, the synergy skates you wear for roller (and most eastons) are also wide and deep.

If you like your synergies so much, why not just get another pair for ice? With the Stealth skates coming out, they should go down in price soon. That way, at least you're using a consistent boot. Have your ice blades profiled to match the pitch of the sprungs, and they should feel pretty darn similar.
