Removing grip from the stick

Recommended Posts

Will you have to cut any of it? If so, test on the part you know you'll be cutting off. You could try either some low heat to see if you can start rubbing/peeling it off or the other option would be cutting to the shaft with a razor and seeing if you can shave or peel it that way.

Painting over it's not an option because mine are still grippy-ish under a layer of spray paint.

I cant even feel the grip on my Dolemite grip now while I'm on the ice.

Maybe cause it gets a bit wet or cause I've used it a certain amount of times.

I'm in the same boat. If that's the Modano that technically doesn't have grip. The Warrior pro grips that I've used are downright sticky.

Try baby powder.

I've used the coin rubbing trick on a couple other sticks for a teammate (an ST and and it seemed to work well enough on his stick. Note that I didn't really use the stick, but my friend said it wasn't as sticky anymore.

EDIT: Stupid question.

I'm curious to see what ppl say, I have a TPS rubber that I would like to de-grip, I don't mind the grip so much as I hate that it turns my gloves blue.

you can peel off the rubber grip, it comes off in chunks over time

Try carving away at it with an exacto knife, that stuff is thick.

that weakens it a lot. I did that to most of my old response rubber and the next time I played with it it broke.

I just spent about 10 mins trying to peel it off around the bottom, it comes of in little flakes, this job seems a bit more effort than its worth. I was thinking of taking an electric sander to it w/ a sheet of sandpaper thats really soft. any unforeseen problems with that?
