Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted November 4, 2006 Nice find, AllSmoke, but I think you should turn this into a poll to determine what percentage of our teenage comrades know who Robert Johnson is.....

NuggyBuggy 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2006 Robert Johnson was a legendary and influential blues figue who, legend has it, sold his soul to the devil in exchange for his musical genius. Only 29 recordings are known to exist, and about a fifth of them are about the devil. The 80s movie Crossroads has Ralph Macchio (aka the Karate Kid) as a young bluesman searching for a lost Robert Johnson recording, and borrows liberally from the Johnson legend. Chadd 916 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 I got the 2 CD set back when I was in HS, still have it. I get some strange looks when I have that blasting in the car with the windows down on a summer day.

hockeymom 2 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 LOL... I always thought it entirely appropriate that a man who sang "Hell Hound" and "The Devil blues" also had a bad case of the "Kind Hearted Woman Blues". 'course he did songs about his mojo... so he wasn't entirely focused on the devil.Have to pull my old music out...
Chadd 916 Report post Posted November 5, 2006 I also have Eric Clapton's "Me and Mr Johnson", the production values are so much better but I still like to listen to the originals from time to time.
