Taping your shaft.

I've notice a couple of pro's tape their shaft. What do you think is the reason for that? Grip, i suppose, but since they're pros, why don't they just use gripped sticks? Old habbits, different feel than grip? What do you think? Any of you guys do it? My stick kind of slipes in my hands these days, i'm trying it tonight.

Some people find grip sticks too tacky, and candy caneing it give it a nice amount of friction

I personally like the feel in the sense that the tape provides a little more touch on the fingertips.

A buddy of mine used to candy-cane, then remove the tape, then repeat to add grip to his sticks. He's since then found grip sticks and never gone back.

souray must like the tape grip better.. or just alot of grip because he is candy caning over a rubber response..

But then again the Rubber Response may not have any grip on it to start off with. It is pro stock.
