my lhs is telling me they are STILL waiting on my One90's from Nike Bauer.. I paid in full already, and it's been a month. Are your outlets experiencing that long of a delay?? I'm just getting a little annoyed with the delay, but if truth be told, and they are on order from NBH.... so be it.

Dealers had the opportunity to reorder the skates in July for a 11/15 ship date. I have gotten quite a few pair in the past couple of wks.

What size are you looking for?

Chadd, wouldn't that kind of burn your bridges with your lhs owner so to speak? Theres not much the lhs owner can do about the situation is there? So bailing in the last minute is kind of un-fair, especially on an expensive purchase.

I'm not sure about the rest of you but I like to stay on my lhs owners good side.

well, let me go on the record that my money has been in their posession for a month now, and I have only heard from the own by email once. I've left him a handful of messages, and heard nothing. I've gotten the "he's just sharpening some skates, he'll call you right back" - no call. While I know sometimes these things are out of people's hands... I'm sure there would be at least an outlet of communication? If NBH says it's going to be 2 months.... so be it, I need to make the decision to either wait, or try on some other skates to see if anything else will work. The manager at this shop has also put me in a little bit of a pickle, which has also left me a little "eh".....

I've thought about asking for my money back.. I've also thought about the whole "burnt bridges" aspect. This is a smaller run shop, and there are major competitiors in the immediate area (5 milles from my house, no less). I figured "help out the smaller stores, the people seem cool, etc" so I went with these guys, as opposed to an Un-Named chain shop.

Unfortunately, there is nothing the owner of the LHS can do to get your skates faster. He should have returned your calls. This situation occurs all the time in the auto industry. Just like in cars, you are waiting for the skates to be built. I talked to NBH yesterday on a warranty issue with ONE90s. I was told they are 6-8 weeks out before the USA warehouse has fill-in stock of ONE90s.

I totally understand this, I know there's nothing anyone can do if that be our case...but let me tell you that there's more communication in your post- than I've had with this store in 30 days....He calls me today, and tells me that it will in fact be 6-8 weeks- that's cool. Like I said before, then that will be my decision to either wait, or look into some other skates...

There's the communication lapse that bothers me, and one other situation that happened (I'd rather not go on the forum with) that makes me a skeptic...

If they're treating you like crap, screw them, cancel your order and take your money elsewhere. You don't owe them anything - you gave them a chance, waited patiently, and it sounds like they've screwed you not once but twice. And don't forget to let them that you're not upset about the wait, but with the shoddy way they've dealt with you. If you don't let them know that, then your message will be lost. You in particular, and we in general, have too many shopping options to deserve poor treatment from someone who apparently doesn't care about your business.

Totally agree dude.

It's not "burning bridges" if you decide not to buy from them. When you run a business, you are in a competitive market, and it is your responsibility to offer good service, prices, and communication...if you do not, people go elsewhere, and you go out of business. I don't see any reason for them to take payment on skates that they don't yet have in stock anyway...maybe a deposit to hold a pair for you when they come in, but not for $500 dollar skates, or whatever they cost, and taking the full value. And then you don't hear anything from them for a month...no effort to communicate with their customer.

I hope you have a receipt for your purchase, because these people sound very shady. I would go get my money back asap and take my business elsewhere, if I were you.

well guys.. I called the store last night around 5 from my cell phone.... rang 7 times, and I got the answering machine. I waited about 5-10 minutes.... tried again, answering machine. I say to mysel, "Self... are they avoiding you?!"... so I get sneaky and call from my phone at work... I get an answer first ring, so I ask "What time do you close?" get an answer, and call be immediately on my cellphone..... 7 rings, answering machine.

at this point, I'm pretty f'ing floored by this. So I call back on the work phone again, and ask for the mgr... the person asks me why... I say "Well, I've been trying to get ahold of someone regarding my order, and now I would like a refund on my deposit..." the kid on the phone says "On skates?!" like he knew what I was talking about... he puts me on hold, I get the manager I've been dealing with. I tell him I'm coming in tomorrow to get my deposit back... he studders a few times, and tells me"my rep found a pair in stock in one of his stores in NH... so he is going to yank them from the store and I'm going to meet him at the border (I'm in southern MA) tonight.... I can have them for you tomorrow"

At this point, all I would have loved was a phone call saying "I can have them for you tomorrow" but instead, I was avoided for 24 hours... so I said "No thanks, I will be in for my refund". He tells me "Well, you gotta come in later in the afternoon, I have to get the cash from our main office, we dont keep that much cash in the store". So I say to my fiancee, "Maybe I'll look at some other skates... but y'know what.. it ALL depends how I'm treated today... if he's a dick, I'm taking my money elsewhere..."

I go in today, and I tell a rep in the store "I had talked to the mgr about cancelling my order on skates.. I'm here for my deposit".... he goes to the mgr who is standing at the back of the store, refusing to make eye contact with me... and I hear EVERY WORD as follows....

rep: "hey, this guy says he is cancelling his order.... said he spoke to you?!"

mgr: "yep... coulda had them for him today (rep's name) was gonna drop them off to me this morning... oh well"

rep: "So where do I pull the $$... I don't have that much in the drawer?"

mgr: "Well, what the hell does he want me to do if the store dosen't have that much cash?? I guess we have to take it from the safe"

funny... 12 hours ago, he was "meeting someone at the border for the skates"... and he "had to go to our main office to get the cash"

well, needless to say... I got the money back, and thanks guys... I had enough of being jerked around for a month.. and you guys helped me make my decision.

the choice to leave $500 as deposit was all me, as if I had it on me, I woulda blew it... they required 1/2 though. Still a $300 deposit.

but yes, this store... I dunno, rather shady. I seriously cannot even comment on forum, on the other incident I was mentioned in my previous posts...I was thinking of PMing one of you guys in a lhs to share this... as it's pretty nuts, but served me right for being trusting.

Funny how they managed to locate a pair for you as soon as you asked for your money back.

my point entirely... couldn't have "located a pair sitting in a store in NH" 3 weeks ago??

My LHS just got a shipment of ONE90s this morning. saw the boxes on the floor and asked about them.

Your case could have been genuine coincidence, but I still think the manager was acting like a tool.
