My old elbow pads use to slide so I used sock tape to help hold them up. Then I replaced them with RBK 5k's and they're staying up well.

You may want to try a long sleeve baselayer, maybe even the nike ones with grip. I use the long sleeve wicking shirts from wal mart with my RBK 4k's and my pads don't go anywhere.

My old sherwood 5000s used to slide regardless of what I wore, but those were one piece elbows.

Not being a skinny guy I have had this issue myself. I went with a larger pad, I then heated them up, wet my arms and put the pads on tight with a long tight shirt on and continued to move and bend my arm in various positions. WALLAH!!

Good luck.

i find that mine stay in place better without the long sleeves. i have easton synergy 700s and they stay in place fine. my last pair were tps and i had to tape those to get them to stay put.

Sorry for the misprint. When preping the pad I would wear the long sleve shirt over it like a shin sleeve so it would form as tight as possible to by arm. No need for a long sleeve shirt anymore.

cwc, I had a low-end pair of sherwood's that I had the same problem with, but I went with some RBK 7k's and with their 3-strap system, they never move a bit.

Sweatbands seem to work well underneath the pad to pad out the arm, and sock tape around the pad works too, I've also seen people use soccer captains armbands over the bottom half of the elbow pads and they've had good results with that.

I've got sorta "Popeye" arms and have this problem when I wear a longsleeve polypro baselayer like Under Armour. I got the grippy shirt designed for hockey and it helps, but doesn't solve the problem 100% as the pads will slip in rougher situations. I don't generally have an issue when wearing no baselayer, but I'd rather not give it up since I like it's benefits. I may switch to a shortsleeve option as a compromise. Until then, I make sure to pull the slack in my sleeves down toward my wrists so that the elastic fabric has a tendency to pull the pads back up toward my shoulders. It helps a little.

Oh, and the upper cuff would only hold if I tightened it down to the point that it reduced circulation, so it's not really helpful in my situation.

Get something without an upper cuff and they won't slide off.

or at least try keeping the upper-most strap loose.

chadd - after reading your suggestions, i got a pair of jofa 9025...felt weird at first, then i grew to like them a lot. then i got a stick up on my bicep...doesn't seem like it would hurt, but it was enough to make me buy another set of elbows. got 9044s from EWH and have been happy with them...not quite as mobile but i don't feel as naked, hah. and w/the top strap loose, they do stay put.

Sorry to hear that. My 5030 shoulders wrap around my arms pretty well with the exception of the inside of my arm so I'm still somewhat protected. If the 9025s are larges, I'll buy them from you. My 8025s have seen better days.

no worries - i appreciated your suggestion, and as i said, i liked them a lot comfort wise, i just chose to get something with a bit more protection as i usually don't wear shoulder pads...

the pads are size medium btw - sorry!
