Dare to Dream 1980 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 I have the graf supra's G3 skate and i have been very dissapointed in how easily my blade chips or gets dull because it seems like ever 2-3 skates there dull or chipped badly. So i was wondering how good are the T-blades in the catagory of chipping and how much different it would be to switch to them

nicksmission14 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 Uh oh, I ordered T-Blades because I don't like the Pro Lites on my RBK's and the T-Blade engineering seemed very good. Reading posts like these make me worried. I think my LHS will kill me if I return them because they've been waiting 3 weeks for them to come in from Canada. Are they really that bad?? Guest OSTOR Report post Posted December 19, 2006 No I just have a very good sharpener
KYHockey3 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 if you have a great sharpener, then why do your blades get dull so easily? i mean its pp, but t-blades seem to last longer them regular skates
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted December 19, 2006 Still even if you have a good sharpener, 2 weeks straight on the ice without another sharpening. Even an amazing sharpener cant keep them sharp for that long. But I agree with LC is it PP

Even an amazing sharpener cant keep them sharp for that long. But I agree with LC is it PPI also run a sweet stick along my blades about 3 times before i hit the ice
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted December 20, 2006 I love my t'blades and have used them for nearly three years. I generally get close to 3 months out of them before I start to notice they are becoming dull. At that point, I'll run the stone over the sides and generally get another few weeks before needing to do so again. Around 5-6 months, I trade them in for the newer model. Previously, I'd get my skates sharpened after four to five sessions. That said, I've always considered the longevity to be a bonus. The increased turning radius is noticeable and why I've stayed with them.I respect Ostor's opinion, since it's based upon his experience. Too often these threads are "Heard it from a friend, who heard from a friend, who heard it from another you've been messing around." I'm not suggesting everyone needs to try t'blades, because they might not be for everyone. But it's obviously difficult to know how good or bad t'blades are without ever having tried them.If you tried them and didn't like them, now you know. If you tried them and liked them, now you know, If you've never tried them, well now you don't know.
