Bauer 3000 helmet

I've been a CCM helmet man for years, but thinking about switching it up. The 3000 is probably the cheapest and would fit my needs as a surly beer leaguer. Anyone own this or have any recommendations?

It does it's job, not outstanding, not horrid. It did pinch my head a little since I got a larger head.

The last thing I need is a pinched noggin. Any recommendations for helmets for bigger head sizes (I wear a size 7.5 hat).

Might wanna try sticking to a CCM, like the 692 since it's worked well for you. I find the 652 and the Bauer 3000 to be a bit narrow for myself. I wound up with a Jofa 690, hard to get one though. Sounds like you don't want to go all out like for a Rbk though. I'd say look at the CCMs, or maybe an Itech.

Yeah, I guess I'll stick with my CCM HT500 (basically the same as the 692). CCM's were built for the big domers like me, although I find it sits a shade high on my head, but it seems to be doing it's job and doesn't look too goofy, so I guess I'll stick with it.

Thanks to all for the input, I guess I can use the $30 to spend on other things, like a case of wine spritzers...

500 doesn't have the regular foam, it has the EPP, bicycle helmet type doesn't it? You might find the fit a bit different. If it rides a bit high, you might be able to squish the normal stuff better than the EPP on your head.

I have a biggish head, and use the Nike Bauer 4500 XL. Was about $60 or so (without the cage), but I love it, its comfortable, and haven't been hurt yet (watch me get a concussion this weekend)

That's right, it has the hard black foam but with strategically placed pieces of very soft foam that rests against my head. Before that, I've always used the tan foam. EPP is better protection?
