9K V. ONE90 V. ?

Recommended Posts

so Im getting a freee $700 + from my work and was wondering, what is the best skate currently on the market ? I play Juvenile AAA and play either Left wing, or left defense. Im wondering, of the two which is better ? ALSO, I saw a pair of RBK Pump Shoes at Source for sports, and was wondering if they work for the 9k's like the Free trainer 7.0 works for the one90. Oh, and feel freee to mention other skate options with reason.

Not to sound like an ass or anything but at AAA youd think that they would have you put at a certain position,

And one90s and 9ks are a totally different skate,

Go with what feels right

The pump is to make you go faster,

But you really should consider those skates I offered up there,

Great quality and comfort in a small package

Oh damn I just spilt my ice-cream

No, the pump is for better fit. When pumped the idea is to "mold" around your foot. In essence giving what the ONE90 gives. Though I have not used both skates personally, by reading on this website the ONE90 will give a better fit then the 9k. Though, they apparently both fit quite differently.

I've been trying to get a pair of those American Athletic skates forever. Every time I go to my LHS they have already been sold out. Someday I'll have them.

On a serious note. Try the skates on and what feels best is the one to get.

I know there so popular around here you have to order them and the waiting list is 6 months!

Its a good thing I stood in line for 3 days to get my hands on a pair of these bad boys

Can you guys just let it go? The kid is trying to find information on these two skates, and you guys are just being assholes to him.

The Kid:

The One90 and the 9K are two different-fitting skates. Your best bet is to try them both on, and go with what feels better. I myself cannot wear Nike Bauer skates due to the way my feet are shaped, but I fit perfectly into CCM/RbK skates, and I wear the 5K Pump now. I said earlier t oday in the Kovalev 9K topic that the Pump/LaceLock are the two best innovations in the hockey skate market to this date. I stick by that choice.

ya the pumps will make you go faster just like when you fart while skating. it's a freaking nitro boost for times when you forget to eat your beans.

if i had to pick a skate i would go with the one90 only because i use kors and love them.

You guys are cruel...but it was pretty funny to see the spiderman light shoes. Put a pair of red lightspeeds on those and you're onto something.....

In all seriousness...see what everyone else has said. I have had a real tough time with fit this summer. The 9K and the One 90 are SO different. The 9K is simply a "roomier" boot, for a full size foot. The pump is real nice because you always get a snig ankle fit. The One 90 is a narrower boot....and lighter . I really liked the stiffness of the One 90, but had to give up after a month and two bakes. The bone below my ankle would get so sore that I could barely lace the skate up without pain.

Do yourself a favor and just try them on and walk in them for a while. That was how I made my choice (CCM Vector 10 SE), and I never expected to wear the boot I am wearing now. Don't go by the manufacturer...go by the feel. At the level of a One 90, Vapor XXX, Easton 1500c, Graf G series and 7 series, RBK 9K, CCM Vector 10....they are all terrific boots...they all just fit different.

I know guys who have been playing for years and have no idea what the lie of a blade is and they switch from a hossa to a forsberg and can't figure out why they can't shoot.

hossa (PM9) and forsberg are clones of eachother. If theres an issue with shoooting with one vs. the other, it's not the lie, or the curve.

Exactly....it means you CAN NOT shoot. :o

Atleast for me and some people I know, we can not switch lies. I use a 6 and can not use a 5. A wrist shot with a 5 lie goes nowhere. Hossa was a 6 and Forsberg is a 5. And I am not a fan of lengthening a stick to adjust for lie.

the Pump gives you a "customizable fit" through out the ankle area. The One90's skate technology basically gives you a "fits like a glove" feel- all over the entire boot. The comparisons of these 2 skates is like apples to oranges... aside from the fact that they're both top of the line skates.

Hossa was listed on some sites as a 6 lie, but it was always a 5.
