I was thinking about getting a few pro stock OPS's off of hockey monkey and I was wondering if anyone would know how much the shipping (plus any other associated charges) would be to Calgary?

Also, does anyone know where i can find pics of the pro stock curves? I look at the descriptions on the hockey monkey website but they don't really help that much.

Mack is right, it is an insane amount of money. Not so much for the shipping... but the duty is a killer.

It'll be both. I'm technically part of the United States and it's about $50 right off the bat for me before they add on their oversize charges.

wow, I didn't get charged for oversized shipping on my flyweights. But then again I was bitching at them pretty good so I doubt they'd want to fan the fire :P

When I went to the checkout, I put in all of my correct information and chose UPS Standard Canada (Ground). The final cost was $159.96 for a $120 OPS. Would it be accurate to expect $40 in duty charges?

UPS will charge you a ridiculous brokerage fee and then tax ontop of that. I'm not sure how much total it would be but around 30-40$ in fee's sounds about right.

There will be no duty. Here are their fees for brokerage.

Expect $29 + $4.25 brokerage, then GST + PST on the $120.

for the curves, it takes some time and effort, but you can input the description into the pattern DB here and it will show you similar curves from each manufacturer, then you can look for images of those curves.

takes a few minutes but i had to do that the other day for my brother when he was picking out a pro stock curve.

UPS won't ship ground to AK...only Air.

UPS will ship ground to Alaska, but it'll cost about $20 more than ground to the lower 48 states.

Oh...is that it? I just know when we ship things to AK we are supposed to choose Air.

They can ship ground but a lot of places won't do it. There's not a noticeable difference in price especially when you consider the difference in time for its arrival. That's why I limit any hockey orders to places that will ship USPS since they could care less that we're out in BFE.

I believe our website has an option for USPS to AK. I just can't send those out of my store since it is a remote location.

Damn, I'll just have to foot the regular charges then. The only "decent" price to get stuff up here is if you call it media, but then it takes 2-3 months and comes on a goddamn boat. The way I usually get around stuff is to just have it shipped to the outlaws in North Carolina then have them ship it here.

For gits and shiggles I checked out a couple Dolomite OPS and it rings up at $87 for two. I think Pure Hockey used the same company/rate and it was about $30 for 5 SLs. Hockey Monkey just flat out sucks.
