Ovechkin and Briere on same line for All-Star game

I just saw the starting lineups for the all-star game and i thought it was a little bit funny that briere and ovechkin are starters for the east all star team.

i would assume they will play together, but i wonder if they will talk much since it seemed like briere was holding a little bit of a grudge last time they played.

i wonder if anyone is going to ask them about it at the game..

Fan voting selects the starters. I believe the coaches pick the rest of the team. So Rory's only hope was the fans vote....which didn't succeed.

The fans did a decent job picking starters... but Briere? What about Hossa? St Louis? Jagr? Iginla? Lecavalier? I'm not saying that Briere doesn't belong in the all-star game but I don't think he should be starting.

And Cheechoo doesn't belong in the all-star game, in my opinion. At least not this year.

and for Ovy and Briere, who knows what might happen, if there is any animosity left between them I'm sure the coaching staff will just put them on separate lines

I doubt Briere and Ovechkin will do anything. Ovechkin did a cheap hit on Briere, Briere retaliated, now they're even.

Well, HOPEFULLY they're even, or else this could be an interesting game...

He's 10th in scoring in the league. He's the best player of the best team in the league. I think he fully derserves it.

he's 13th in the league in points on the best team, a team that scores a LOT... You put those 12 ahead of him in his place and they probably end up with more points. He's also 43rd in goal scoring and 8th in assists. That means that there's 12 people that have scored more points than him, probably on worse teams, 42 that have scored more goals that him, also more than likely on worse teams and 7 that have made more assists than him that are probably on worse teams that he is.

But of course when the fans vote for the all-star starting lineups you can expect the first lines to not have the best players, just the most popular.

The one he just pulled to get the 5-3 PP tonight against the Leafs was a beauty.

Man, I completely agree with kosy. At the beginning of this season I thought relatively highly of him even though they took down my sens in the playoffs. Then I started watching him and, well, let's just say whatever he has in skill he lacks in sportsmanship.

Second of all, I think I speak for most of us when I say that his post-game reaction to being questioned about the spear to Ovechkin truly shows his lack of character. No matter how many times Crosby's gotten run at, he hasn't speared anyone in the balls.

You missed the point of it, but even if I were going to use those as actual reasons to hate Briere you can't say Crosby would fit into the 'tiny' part as well. Briere's 4'9".

I think it was more the well it happens to me every game so its ok statement that got people pissed off as well as the no comment.
