Standard Shaft

Recommended Posts

I wondering which standard shaft is the best out there or what you prefer. I am using a 100 flex in everything so thats a given. I'm going to switch from expensive OPS's to 2 piece's. I'm not a huge fan of tapered, so thats out of the question(I have a dolomite broken OPS and the blades are too expensive).

I currently love the feel of the dolomite, but everyone that has a Z-Bubble loves them.

Also, which the STIFFEST wood blade out there, so I know.

Please post your suggestions

is that the same one crosby uses?

just never seen it @ retail

and are UL's heavier then Ak and Z-bubble?

Also the wood blades I've used are those hybird ones they sell for like 30 bucks, I've had problems with those blades

any other ones better?

I like the Mission M2 with Sherwood 950 blades. The Ion is the replacement for the M2, so I'd assume they are near identical graphics aside.

Anthony, how's that shaft working out for you, i've been eyeing those for awhile myself

I like it a lot... to get free shipping I bought the matching XD composite blade... which I'm not so much a fan of. I'm waiting on my lhs to get some Sherwood wood blades in.

For the last 3 weeks, I've been playing with the AK27, with an AK27 blade on it. The blade is very stiff and the shaft has a perfect flex for me and I've gotta say that so far, I really like this stick. I recommend it to you, though it's the cheepest one.

I have the ak27, to answer your question ^^^ its not really like an SL, its circular and concave on the wide sides, i love it, ive had many different high end sticks, one pieces, you name it, love this one the most.

to be honest i dont know what the tri flex gold is like, but its circular, and like i said its concave on each side of the shaft, i cant exactly tell if its just as concave on each side or if its a little mroe on one, each one seems to be different, but you should know, it took me one game to break my first one, got the second on warranty have had it for 2 months and love it, the guy at the lhs claimed a ton of that batch of them broke and thinks it was jsut a bad batch.

Isnt it greant when we ask if a clone of a stick is the same as a different clone of the same stick? (Bauer TFG = inno 1100 = Warrior AK27)

If you liked the Dolomite, it might not be a bad idea to go with the AK27 because it has a similar shaft shape and the flex properties will be the same.

The Easton Cyclone that figgifumi suggested is actually one of my favorites due to its rounded, slightly smaller shaft shape. It is available in 95 flex, and is Easton's lightest shaft.

hands down no questions asked and from a someone who has tried it all it would be the tps redlite xn10. Light as a feather, strong as a tank and my god does it have a cannon of a shot to go with it. there is a guy in the sell section selling it for cheap both a used and new one and no it isn't me... :P

I'd second the Ultra Lite. I used to use the Red Lite XN10s but decided to switch back to the ULs just for the better balance. I tried an AK27 but I broke one of 'em taking a slap shot, and that was in roller. I've been using the One60 wood blades and so far so good. Good feel and pretty stiff and they've held up well.

I'm with shute on this. I have fallen in love with this particular standard shaft.

the Ak27 seem like a perfect shaft.

No doubt the xn10 line is awsome..but maybe a bit too light.. you REALLY have to get a light blade if not it is way too blade-heavy!

Really liked the Z-bubble if you can stand the taper zone

and the Vapor X/Tri Flex Gold. awsome shaft!
