Anyone See the spear on Crosby by Jason Blake

Just saw it on sports center, don't know if there was anything that Crosby before this to instigate it, but Blake appeared to spear him for no reason, I like the fact that Crosby got up and went right after Blake, grabbing him by the collar of his jersey, if anyone had the chance to drop the mits with Crosby it was Blake and he just whimped out.

Yea and by the way he grabbed Blake and how Blake looked I have a feeling Crosby would have housed him, for 5'11" hes 200lbs of muscle, Blake is 5'10" 180lbs not only giving up a inch but 20lbs he would have been whooped.

ya i saw the game here in pittsburgh, blake tried to play it off like he was trying to hit his gloves... blake is like the sean avery of the east... nobody went after him because the game was pretty much over besides 5 seconds, but crosby would have ripped his head off...

complete joke he made the all star team... so many crappy players on both rosters this year, and so many obvious snubs...

obviously you can't go wrong with brodeur and miller, and huet has played very well this year, but dipietro is the best player on the isles by a lot... id take yashin over blake as well...

either way should make for a fun locker room convo between crosby and blake at the ASG

Crosby is so dramatic, but whatever it takes, I'm a dramatic person myself.

The spear was uncalled for and Blakes completely classification is also embarrassing.

Latest drought? He has to score for his droughts to be considered separate! :) One hat trick doesn't make a scoring streak. This whole season is a drought!

It was good to see Malone and Witt get into it with Witt, the his was clean and Crosby just got up and turned and went after the puck, but someone on this team needs to show a little spark in those situations.

Blake's play was classless. Crosby embellished but it shouldn't have mattered. Blakes's excuse was that he was trying to spear him in the hand. Oh, ok, sorry, as long as you weren't trying to spear him in the gut, it's ok. The puck wasn't even near them, why did he feel a need to use the stick at all? The way Blake backed down was pretty amusing.

I think it was partly due to previous games between these two. There were two games (that I can think of off the top of my head) this season where Crosby clearly took a dive, got the call, and the Pens ended up winning off of a PPG. Still, that was a classless move and even as a Isles/Blake fan I can't defend it.

But I can defend against people who say that he shouldn't be at the allstar game. For 3/4 of the season so far he's been in the top 7 in the whole league for goals, so theres no way he's not deserving. DiPietro (while still not completely earning that 15 year deal) has been far and away their best player, Blake has been their best offensive player.

And whoever listed Blakes height/weight is way off. I spent two summers skating with him in a camp in Minnesotta, and I'm 5'10 165, and Blake was at least 2 inches shorter then me. The guy is pretty cut though, so the 180 is probably accurate

A guy on my team played with Blake in the USHL. He has some pretty funny stories about Blakie-the guy is heck of a hockey player but a complete and total social moron.

desperate? do you even know what that word means, stop trying to sound smart, how does me saying your hating on the kid desperate? Like I said in my previous post, I don't get full coverage on Pens hockey here but for what I saw, about 20 games, 15% of all the games he played, I would be far from calling him a diver, thats my opinion...

All I'm saying is that for a 19 year old, hes incredible in every way, look I'm not even a Sid fan but you got to give it to him, He scores, passes and already has to carrie a team on his back, I can remember when I was 19, I was way weaker and way more hot headed then I am now, I'm way more mature and way stronger then the 19 year old me...

Of course hes flaud, everyone is but seriously, for you to talk about him and flaus is disrespectfull, hes as perfect as you can get without being perfect, now the part about the maturity will come with time, thats the part I give him slack because I understand that thats maybe the one thing he lacks...

Same with Ovey and goal celebrations, in five years, he will just pump his fist casualy as opposed to almost jumping out of the rink...

And by the way, a "hater" is someone who concentrates his focus on the negative as opposed to the greatness and I feel that thats exactly what you are doing, the kid gets 2 goals, a guy takes a run at him and another spears him and you are talking about his flaus... hating!
