Senior shin guards

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any recommendations on the lightest, most comfortable, shinguard?? I do not like BIG and BULKY shinguards and wear either a 13" or 14". I know I should be in at least a 15". I'm 5' 10". Thanks

Atleast a 15"?

I'am 5"11 and wear a 14". It has to do more with the length of your legs rather then how long the shin guard is. You could have a long body but short legs/long legs short body

Get yourself some Mission Matrix. The Red and Black ones. HAve had them for the last 3-4 years and still holding up strong.

though i don't use them anymore, i have to say that those are the favorite i've ever owned as well.

I just recently purchased the Easton Stealth S5's. They are narrow and light. Not too bulky and very protective. I was torn between these and the Nike V-11's at the store, but I figured that the Stealths were a superior product. I used to wear Jofa 6500's, but I don't like the new RBK shins. They seem too wide for the average shin.

Oh, and regarding your size, I would say that you should probably be wearing a 15", unless you wear your skate tongues out in which case you may need to stick with 14". Take your skates to the store with a pair of socks and try some shins on. That is what I did. I'm 5'10" as well and wear a 15" shin over my tongue.

Maybe, I'm not sure. I know that if I wore 16's they would press into the top of my foot when I bent my knee. If I was to wear my shin guards behind my tongue, I would need to wear 14" pads.

Try RBK 4k with Fitlight technology. I am 5'10.5" and I wear a 15" over my skates. They are light, fit very well, protect well ( I have taken some hard slapshots square off the shin), and do keep your shins a tad cooler.

i second that.. the fitlight really makes the difference. i think that is the perfect rollerhockey shin pads and i've had no problems on ice either. on top of that you have the jofa name behind it
