2007 Easton blades?

Recommended Posts

JR, I believe you could be wrong on this one.

I was looking at the 07 catalog today and saw the new Yellow ST tapered blade which does come in the Heatley pattern. I know its not the synergy II blade like he was looking for but it is a Heatley pattern meant for the tapered shafts.

Oh, but you're still wrong...the ST is NOT tapered. It is a short-hoseled standard.

Trust me, I went to the Easton show in early December and I've had the catalogue since then. I told them it did not make any sense to make a short-hoseled standard blade when their shafts are still the same length.

Thats what i was reading too, but then i looked up at the synergy II blades and i believe it said the same thing for those as well. Could be wrong, ill have to take a look tomorrow morning. Easton rep was in today, shoulda asked him then.

You gotta get up real early in the AM to get one past me. :)

LOL sounds to me you're really rep-dependent. What store do you work at?

I'll scan that page when I get home tonight.

If i was dependent on my reps i dont think id be able to get anything done. Getting a hold of reps is sometimes a task in itself. As far as that blade goes i think you are correct. I think i interpreted short hosel as if it was meant for the tapered shafts when infact its for a standard shaft just giving it a lower kick point. +1 for you!

Oh, trust me, I am.

I made it a point in the presentation in Chicago I attended (key accounts). Not only is it more money, but it's not going to sell because the shafts have to be made longer. Same thing happened to Sher-Wood with the Momemtum blade; great blade, but won't work for most unless you bought the matching shaft. The problem is that Easton doesn't have that matching shaft for it.

That sucks hard. If you're going to go to that much trouble making a short-hosel standard blade, then why not just make a tapered one? What a pain in the ass.

I was invited to Chicago but since someone had to stay and watch the store, the owner made the trip instead for me :) So i guess the owner is the key account in my neck of the woods. I agree with you 100%... Next thing you know, Easton will come out with a Butt End that can only be used in Easton shafts to be used when purchasing the new ST short hosel blade. I bet that blade will take a good 3-4 inches off the length of the shaft.

They will go to full length shafts, but don't have the tooling in place just yet. They have it for the Stealth and some of the SLs were showing up full length, and now the SE.

are they adding 3" or 6" to their shafts? if it's 3", it still may not be enough for a the guys who currently use "normal" standard blades and a 3" butt.

it really screws me. i use the heatley, but to use a standard st blade i currently have a 6 inch butt end already. im 6'4", it isnt exactly a personal preference issue. if they dont make longer standard shafts im screwed. i had a novious that was pretty long but its gone now. does anyone else make a standard shaft of quality that is at least a couple inches longer than the standard easton length?

I think TPS shafts are 51." I know i had a tricore that was.

according to the catalog, NBH's ONE90 and ONE50 shafts will both be 54"

edit: TPS R6 Armour shaft is/will be 55" and standard.

im under the impression that they include the additional butt end length when figuring how long they are. would this be the case with these?

That sucks. I dig the Heatley curve, and would love a tapered blade. I don't want to buy another OPS just to try it. Shaft and blade combos from now on for this guy!

opus, to be honest I'm not sure, but I know that Bauer hasn't included a butt end with their sticks for quite some time now, and no butt end was pictured. Also, considering the standard Easton shaft is 48" (or 47.5") these sticks would still be longer if a 3" plug is included. They'll be around in the spring for you to check them out.

did the synergy II replace the synthesis ?

Yes it did but the Synthesis blades still work in the Synergy II shafts. Nothing has really changed; just a new paint job.

construction of the blades have changed. synthesis blades were akin to original synergy blades. Synergy II blades are akin to SL blades. they're lighter and less durable.

Same goes for the synthesis/synergy II shafts. different shapes.

don't know how it didnt occur to me before, but shorter hosel=less weight on the blade end. you add a plug to the top of the stick and bingo bango, better balance.

Lots of poeple had issue with weight on the ST, did they not? looks like easton listened.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the other standard blades. if/when they lengthen the shafts.
