Langenbrunner15 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2007 They do..but it's not nearly as big as an NHL contract.
trevor13478 1 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 they are under contract from NHL teams, do you not realize that they are just minor leagues? AHL players get payed with the same money NHL players do, most of the time the salaries are smaller, but that is because it is a lot of younger players who haven't proven themselves in the show yet. mack 44 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 No, they will not earn the same amount of money an NHL player would. Unless they're on a one-way contract they will make far less for the games played in the AHL than they would in the NHL.

Someone posted in another forum that they had a friend that played in the ahl/nhl. He said that the difference between his two salaries was $400,000.00. His AHL was $50k. Dont know how true that is, but the minimum NHL contract (450,000) is probably worth more than the top AHL contract. Zach
KYHockey3 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 its the same with minor league baseball. i know a guy who got drafted and definatley doesnt make as much as the major leaguers.they probably get big signing bonus's before the ahl, but they arent making millions of dollars a season in the ahl

phshockey53 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 Not to try to get off topic....but I skated on that ice at the new Caps practice facility (Kettler)...wow! Some of the best ice I have skated on in a while: hard and fast. They did a great job in that place. The old practice facility in Ashburn is pretty nice too.Is the Ashburn place pretty nice? i ask because i have a tourney in D.C. over president's weekend and we play 2 or 3 games at Ashburn. Good proshop too(but the room is a little tight in there). i had a game up there last Saturday, good ice. The only problem was that the refs wer elike 20-30 minutes late to get on the ice, but we still won.On a side note if they dont havea Five Guys in your town, go to it. They have a lot in DC/sourounding area and they make some of the best burgers and fries.
MB226 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 he probably likes the RBK stuff more but CCM requires him to wear theirs in games, they can't do shit about what he wears in practice though. Why would you practice with equipment you're not going to wear in a game?I was wondering the same thing, then I realized CCM blows, so that's probably why. <---opinion!hope you guys didn't miss that CCM and RBK are together (as far as i know), so CCM probably won't get to pissed if Ovy is wearing some RBK stuff. money is going to the same placei mite be wrong, but I called up CCM once and it was the cusotmer service line for both CCM and RBK, and it lead me to believe they were together. mack 44 Report post Posted January 31, 2007 Yeah, we got that. The difference is they'd obviously be trying to push the CCM faction though since RBK can sell on its own, regardless of who's pushing it. Plus they can have Ovechkin be the CCM posterboy and Crosby for RBK.
