eagle helmet bags

Recommended Posts

i've been seeing these eagle helmet bags at different shops and i was just wondering if these are strictly for goalie helmets or if they would work for player helmets. I am sick of my brand new helmets getting all scratched up in the bag.

How Thick are they? I have just a couple old CCM tacks bags for my helmets, but are kinda thin. If these are pretty thick fleece, I think I'll get a few of these.

Well, I don't really have a baseline as I don't remember the Tacks ones, but I find them to be pretty thick. Thinner than a fleece jackets but thicker than a pillow case. Its not going to protect it from drops etc., but it will protect it from incidental contact inside a hockey bag.

I got it to protect my visor and its done a great job so far (had it since Xmas).

I use one too for my Pro Stock CCM 692 with HS22 Mirrored visor. I find them to be nice and thick. It helps a lot with scratches on the helmet and the visor.

The other benefit is that it keeps the mirrored visor nice and clean. That is the ONLY downfall of that visor....it is a real bear to keep clean.

Honestly, I think you can save a few bucks by just sticking your helmet into a spare jersey. Plus, you always got a spare jersey if you need to switch sides in drop-in or something.

I would agree with most cases....that is what I used to do...but when you spend $60+ on a visor, you do what you can to prevent scratches. The fleece helmet bag is really good for that.

I ordered an Oakley helmet bag. When I checked it, I saw it was made in China, with 96% polyester and 4% nylon material. It caused me a lot of scratches on my visor from the first day I used it. Pretty upsetting!

Anyone with an Eagle helmet bag... what does the label say about material? Is it "100% micro fleece" or something along those lines? I might pick one up if the material is better.

I don't have a label on my Eagle helmet bag, but have been using it for a couple of years and haven't had any issues with it protecting my half visor. The material is very soft.

Um, if you read any of the above posts, they use it to protect their shields/visors from getting all scratched and cut up and to help them stay somewhat clean while their helmet is in their bag.

The carbsters use to come with a purple helmet bag. I think i may have a few around here somewhere if people need one.

Like a big-ass crown royal bag

I use a pillow case..it seems to work pretty well, no scratches on the visor at all. The only thing is it gets pretty nasty using it all the time. It was white, now it's yellow.
