HC Davos Jersey

Recommended Posts

My brother got me an HC Davos jersey (blue) while he was in Switzerland, which was a nice surprise. I have to be honest and say that I don't see a future for this jersey hanging up on the wall next to my Toronto Maple Leafs jersey (It looks like NASCAR and the NHL's illegitimate love child).

That being the case, since I need a blue jersey anyways for scrimmages/games, I figured I would get the jersey numbered.

I looked on the search option and on the web and couldn't determine the following:

-What material is the numbering/lettering; it looks like the heat press on some pics and looks sewn on on others

-Colours; specifically yellow or white (on some pics it is hard to tell)

Any help would be appreciated-Not a big deal-but I figure if I'm going to get it done I may as well do it right.

Thanks,

D

The names and numbers are gray with a yellow background. The names are one color (yellow) under the number. Found a great site on google images that has a bunch of pics:

Pics 3 and 11 are the best for viewing the numbers on the back.

It is amazing to see the swiss teams....they look like skating ad billboards.

The majority of european jerseys have the names and numbers sublimated into the shirt with the design so you'll never get it exactly the same.

In my opinion, if you could get some heat press numbers in grey & yellow then that would be the closest you could get.

Hi !

I play hockey in Switzerland and can answer your question. The official game jerseys have the numbers and names directly printed on them, no sewing, no heat pressing (allthough they did that some years ago). The only time the name is sewn on the jersey is if a player is temporarly added to a team's roster in this case they use a spare jersey with an unused number and sew the name on it.

And yes, players look like billboards, mainly because there isn't that much money involved as in U.S. sports thus, teams depend on sponsors.

Im from Europe as well and i think that this billboard-style is way better than this north american style (PP as always).

The Euro brands/logos give it a more "Formula 1" feeling IMO B)

Good point-I guess since I am such a big fan of F1 I tend to tune out all of the ads.

Ironically, the jersey's manufacturer is nowhere to be seen on the outside of the jersey (at least that I can see).

Thanks for all of your replies, hopefully on my next "Eurotrip" I might be able to take in a game.
