tps sundin

Recommended Posts

I am currently using a TPS response armour with the sundin curve i love the curve. Since the durability isnt the greatest i was thinking about getting another stick but i dont know any curves that are similar to the sundin in other brands. I have looked at the pattern DB and i cant see any other 3/4" mid curves other than the thorton, shanahan. what curves are similar or the same as the tps Sundin?

thanks

Marc

Gaborik, but that's a higher lie than Sundin

Coffey, but I believe that's also a higher lie now too

I like the Sundin curve as well. I find it's very similar to the Warrior Robitaille curve. Same lie, but the Sundin is just a bit deeper.

I can take a pic of them side by side tonight if you want.

What are the lie's for sundin and Robataille?

According to the Pattern DB, they are both a 5 lie. From my experience, that's spot on.

Did the Sundin replace the old Brendl TPS curve by any chance?

I'm confused about that too as some pattern databases list them as the same pattern but I think I've seen some Brendls that are mid curves and others that are more heel... Is there anything to that?

Just wanted to clue you all in to the Afinogenov curve, on the TPS catalogue. Looks to be the Sundin. Cheers.

I was told that the tps afinogenov is the messier renamed?

Nothing really comes close from NBH. No deep curves at retail. Lindros is the closest probably, but not a deep curve at all.

The Naslund(P92) and Nash are clones of the Sakic. St. Louis (PM9) is Modano/Tkachuk. Kovalchuk/p91a is a Drury clone (frolov maybe). The p106 is a heel curve unlike the Sundin.

Hey Marc, et al.

I have a TPS Sundin blade, and although it's listed as a lie 5, this blade is around a 6 -- and useless to me. I recently noticed the new Afinogenov pattern, which is also listed as a lie 5.

Do you or anyone out there know if TPS is still using the same lie specs as a couple years ago when they were making the Sundin pattern? In other words, are the Sundin and Afinogenov patterns the exact same lie? If so, then that sucks for me, 'cause I really like the looks of that Afinogenov hook!

Anyone else notice the lack of an industry standard for blade lies? Drives me nuts...

Sundin (Brendl) retail had a lower lie than Modano. Unless you got a Messier that was marked incorrectly, they are/were a 5.

I'm pretty sure this is not an incorrectly marked Messier blade. I've seen that blade too. This is an R2 wood blade -- maybe the TPS lies are different from wood to composite????. I used to have a Modano Synergy, and when I compared the two, the Sundin was definitely very close to a lie 6 (like an Yzerman). And when I played with it (once), I was missing passes and the tape wear was only on the back of the heel.

So, you think the Afinogenov pattern would be the same as the Sundin (fake lie 5)?
