Hockey DeVoTee

Q's for One90 owner's

Recommended Posts

I'm in the proces of purchasing One90's, but I'm in between a 6.5 & 7.0D.

The 7's fit well, but my toes don't touch the toe cap (slightly back.) The 6.5's are tight (not total comfy), but are not painful.

My question is how much room do gain after baking & break-in? If you had to fit yourself again would you go tight or the .5 size up? Would a 6.5EE be much wider? LHS doesn't stock anything wider than D widths.

Local Hockey Store is small & No Help!

I'm currently in 6.5 Nike FL12..... too wide in the heel.

Many Thanks

Take the footbed out and stand on it. That will tell the tale of exactly how much room you have heel to toe. Your definition of pain, not total comfy is too vague. Exactly where is the pain/discomfort? Have you worn the D width boots in the LHS with the lower laces snug tight or snug loose? The EE gets mighty wide mighty fast. You will also sacrifice heel lock with the EE if your heel is totally locked in on the Ds.

i had the same problem(they gave me 9 amd 9.5 and i had 9.5 8090's before that) when i tried on the 9 it was a little snug and my toes didnt touch but with the 9.5 they felt better

My toes touch the circumference of the toe cap. Not painful, but light to medium pressure from the base of my small toe around to the first joint of my big toe. With a medium thickness pair of socks too tight to skate in, but I skate barefoot. W/O socks I wore for a half hour in the store w/o feeling like I had to take them off, but I did feel the pressure.

This is in the 6.5

Laces snug loose... I do like a snug fitting boot.

If they made a 6.75 they would be great!

Because of the construction of the boot will they loosen-up slightly??

Thanks DarkStar

If anybody could help me that'd be great.

My question is, currently I'm in Graf 705 in 9 Wide. I'm looking to move into Supreme One90s as I'm told those are the closest fit in the move from 705 to NBH. Are the widths going to be similar, say if I were to go from a 9W in Graf to 8.5EE in One90? I'm just trying to piece this all together to be prepared to spend 550 on new skates and know what to look for.

I always go with the smaller size in question. Skates open up, ankle packs settle in, and extra room just leads to sloppiness. Also, consider that the crux of the one90 design is "negative space. "

I agree. I was kind of in the same situation except it was between 9.5 and 10. I went with the 10 and regret it.

Is this also an adequate test for width? I just tried this because of foot pain and my footbed is nowhere near wide enough. I wonder if that contributes to the pain because it's squeezing my feet? Apologies in advance for hijacking the thread.

I think you went with the right choice, obvious by your experiance on them.

Too often I have gone the other way with skates too often and eneded up with a less than perfect fit for good skating. My One90's are a C/AA width

and I'd been buying E width skates !
