Is there any way to "de-grip" a stick?

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a new RM9 and I have never played with a grip stick before and I am having trouble stickhandling and shooting because my guide hand (lower hand) is not able to move. So I amn asking if anyone knows how to make a stick have less grip.

you could allways use sand paper, wich should take down some grip, but it also may chip the paint off.

i beleive there might be a previous thread on this, so just use the search tool, located on the yellow strip above, and search for this.

welcome aboard!

if you try sand-paper, just use a real fine grit...the higher the number the finer the grit....or try steel wool...that might do the trick

Don't go over board with the sanding either, if you scrape to hard or too much you'll start to dig into the paint. Other than that you should be able to smooth it out

try rubbing candlewax

it can take the "edge" off the grippiness..

or even baby powder.. may stick to the "grip" and just dull it enough for you to use...

I bought the old yellow Easton Grip back in the day and that stick was way too grippy for me. I took some very fine grit sand paper and just kept sanding away until i had the stick to my likings. Funny thing is i went from having a bright yellow stick to pretty much a plain graphite shaft. Knock on wood but ive had that OPS for over three years and it still refuses to break!!!
