Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Yes. I was asking about technical information. But I noticed now there is a Christian Catalog posted. In addition to having his own custom pattern on this stick, the one used in this photograph is a little different than our stocked Torch. We have added a vibration-dampning plug to the inside of the shaft and we removed some of the weight of the blade to make the stick more balanced. We also used a different resin on the blade that will reduce "clam shell" breaks. We are doing this for all of our pro sticks as a test for next year's one piece. As for Kevyn Adams, since he uses a stocked pattern (our #1), we sent him stocked sticks to start with. Many of those sticks were never painted over by the equipment manager. Why? I don't know. Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 This is not a technology that has been used in the past. It's our own procedure that we have been working on for quite a while. It's still not perfected, but it is getting there. When completed, I can assure you that it will be a tremendous feeling stick. Christian might not have the name or the marketing dollars as the big guys, but we are not idiots when it comes to making sticks. We know what we are doing. TBLfan 25 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 It would be nice to use a christian stick again(used to use their goalie sticks). I might consider trying the new stick if the price is reasonable.
Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 The new technology will be added to the 2008 Torch One Piece. When released, it will retail at a comparable price to our existing Torch...$160.
mm705 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2007 Go Pio's, not to hijack this thread or anything but ive just been wondering why you guys do not offer a grip version of your tapered shaft, possibly with that cool harrow rubbery texture grip? i tend to stick to 2piece sticks to try and save money, and have wanted to try one of your shafts for a while but have held off on it because it doesnt have grip, and i have yet to like a shaft that did not have grip. anyways, i might be completely missing something and this is offered, but ive never seen it and the guy at my lhs said he didnt think they had grip ones as an option. anyways, thanks in advance

It was a balsa wood insert meant to strengthen the shaft in the lower part of the stick. It's also got the copper lining on the top part of the shaft for the same reason. Man, I miss my dangler. One is the texture we use on all of our Lacrosse shafts. We call this our "Rubber Matte" finish...it is almost has a baby powder feel to it. The other is our "Glossy Rubber" finish. This is the finish that is on our 2007 Torch One Piece. The 2006 Torch shafts had a "Glossy" finish on them (no rubber). In an effort to keep our line consistent, we have recently switched all of our shafts from a "Glossy" finish to a "Glossy Rubber" finish. I'm guessing this is the finish you are looking for. Yes, we have it available. For the tapered shaft naysayers, we are releasing a standard hosel shaft this summer.USDThanks, JR.The CAN MSRP on the Torch Sr is $198. Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 We are considering it for next year. It would be called the Torch FT (feather touch). We would only offer it in two patterns. Considering our pattern offerings (#1-Forsberg, #3-Drury, #4-Recchi, #5-Iginla, #7-Lidstrom), which patterns would people most like to see if we could only pick two?
Oberon 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Lidstrom and Drury. And, if you could twist it into some kind of underground marketing campaign, make the no graphics version available.

I think the 1,4,5 all sold well for us.

TheSnake22 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 id pick one from iginla/forsberg and one from drury/lidstrom. personally i'd go iginla and the drury, but the other options are close enough that you'll make enough people happy...
Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Lidstrom and Drury. And, if you could twist it into some kind of underground marketing campaign, make the no graphics version available.I'd like to do that, but the problem is we don't have a household name like the big guys. We need as much exposure as we can get. It is helpful to have the Christian name on our sticks for branding purposes.Another option we have been toying with is making an "old school" looking Northland one-piece composite.
Oberon 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I grew up on Northlands, that would be a must-have for me (just don't do the fake wood grain like the XXX Woodie).
whbd18 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Modano#1 and Iginla#5 I think would sell the best at retail. I would love to see the #3(drury) offered, but that pattern is not very popular with the general public. Also the Northland OPS is a nice idea, I think it would sell pretty good. Go Pio's 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 I agree...I personally love the Drury, but #1 & #5 are our best sellers. Thanks for the advice, everybody!
