Non-Tapered Mission L2 Pro Shaft?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard of a non-tapered Mission L2 Pro Shaft being sold?

I bought two off of ebay thinking I was getting the standard Mission L2 shaft. When they arrived they appeared odd in that there was seemingly no taper. When I tried to put my recently purchased Z2 blade into the hozel, it didn't fit fully. Tried a TPS R2, no workie either. Then I pulled an old Easton standard blade and guess what? It locked in perfectly.

Sad thing is, I was buying based upon wanting real L2 shafts but probably got some pro-returns from when the L2 was being newly marketed.

The sticker on the butt-end and inside the shaft match with the numbers:

MHPS090BH4B

L-2 PRO

000-000-144

If anyone has a clue on this...other than don't buy from ebay...I'd appreciate some insight.

If my purchase serves as a warning for others I guess that's good.

Thanks,

Joel

HockeyMonkey was selling Mission pro return shafts in September. They messed up the prices on their webpage initially, so they had to call everybody who had placed the order. I ordered an L-2 and was given the option of a 65 flex tapered or 100 flex standard. I went with the tapered, but that's one place where a standard L-2 could have come from.

Z-2 is tapered, it's a pricepoint tapered shaft, something that isnt very common.

Mission actually doesnt make any standard blades, despite making the standard ion shaft.

I'm at my in-laws so I can't access the catalogs but the Z-1 was a non tapered OPS and I was under the impression that the Z-2 was a two piece version of the same stick.

Wanted to bump this one more time to see if the Z-2 was in fact standard or tapered? There were a few different insights, so I just wanted to make sure.

I double and triple checked the Mission 2006 Catalog, and there isn't a mention either way. I tried calling Mission, but I guess no one is in today.
