Not to mention the fact that you can stack your team and theres no limit to how many prestegious players you can just pick up.

you don't have to if you don't want to. I guarantee there would be a lot more dissapointed people if their was a limit to the number of all stars you have on your team.

Like Madden's salary cap?

You can still go way over it in Madden, you just can't use that team in franchise. But honestly who is going to use a created team in franchise.

Thats the only way I play. I load up on prospects, Spezza, Reid, F. Fedorov, Stajan, Bouwmeester, Nash, Richards, Oulette, the backup for CBJ, Lehtonen, Liv, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Steen, Ruutu (this guy is amazing, he'll be a 98 after the second year everytime), plus a few others. Its good that way because your salary starts low, and if you think it gets out of hand, you can trade any of your players for a first rounder. Its much more fun to play it that way.

im not sure if its in the game, but i havent found it yet, and that is that there is no fantasy draft. i have nhl 2002 and it had it and i loved it because it'd make all the teams even pretty much, but it is either not in 2004 or i can't find it haha

I do the same thing as well, I ususally get Camelleri, Lecavileier, Hartnell, Bryan Allen, Eminger, Schultz, Leclaire, Heatley, Nash, Bouwmeester, Datsyuk,Coliacuvo(the young D from the Leafs)and tonnes more. I sign them all in the first or second year to 6 year contracts.

EDIT: When you do this make sure you pick a team with a good coaching staff, so they develop, or you upgrade the coaching, thats a major thing or else you`ll be waiting years for them to reach 99.

yea it sure does make the game fun when every guy on your team is a 95 overall after 4 years. I prefer to use a terrible nhl team and bring them to the promised land. My columbus team is incredible, and I only have nash, zherdev , leclaire and a bunch of players I drafted that turned out to be nasty. Maxing out your scouting upgrade makes the game infinitely more fun when you are getting guys with 99 potential in the 4th round.

I`m using columbus now and have a really bad team, it also doesn`t help that they have poor team upgrades to start off with, but I`m predicitng by 2009 i`ll have a team of 95`s.

Im in 2007 right now, Nash is a 94, Zherdev is a 97 (I created him at 78 overall with 98 potential) Klesla is a 94 and Leclaire is a 98. They get really good really quick. I also have a 6'6 235 pound center that I drafted thats an 84 right now with 96 potential.

you kno what really pisses me off about this game??? the dynasty mode......yea that really just pisses me off because the computer does crap that i cant do!!

for example.....I started out the game with atlanta and kovalchuk and heatly were getting 1.1 mil and had no years on their contracts.......they wanted about 11 mil and since that was too expensive for me i just traded them away....later, i started a new dynasty with colorado and traded forsberg for kovalchuk and guess what??? the computer could sign kovalchuk for 1.1 mil for 2 years!!! why cant i do that?? wow this game is cheap.......

maybe because of the things(to sign for less players) they upgrade and you didn't upgrade them when you were having Atlanta.

yea i looked at the team upgrades and there legal (sign players for less) was up to 2....which is not high at all......

to all nhl 2004ers (or ex-nhl 2004ers)...........how did yu play yr dynasty mode...i mean did yu care about what the comp can do and what you cant.....did yu care about money and profit. etc.....or did yu just play withought caring.....

yea i kno its just a game and everything and i kno that im being real childish getting into a game this deep but it really pisses me off whenever something or someone doesnt play fair......i hate it when i cant do things others can! :(

A popular plan was to scrap the aged and higher prestige players for young depth, then signing them to long deals and letting them grow.
