if you read the comments and questions that other buyers have asked, you will notice that those guys only do large orders of sticks, 300+ sticks per order, so theres not really any point in getting one or 2 made for yourself. At the same time, i don't think very many hockey store managers would be on the willing side to take a gamble on a bunch of "china-made, composite, ebay selling hockey sticks"...you get what you pay for

Their Minimum order is 500 sticks, so it would be around 25,000 + Shipping Charges. Basically they wasted their time by putting up an auction on eBay.

Almost everything we buy now days come from China. I would bet that up to 90% of the hockey equipment we all own is made in China or else where in Asia. So you may not buy it direct from China, but it's still coming from China. It's all made over there so that the big company's like NBH and RBK can make more $$$.

I was recently in Beijing and I bought name brand things for a very small fraction of the cost we pay here or the US. It would sure be sweet to find the hockey equipment next time.

There are some 'bargains' durke on items actually manufactured in China. I bought boxes of real Gap jeans from a factory in no tax zone bordering Hong Kongin early 90's. Factories set up to do a run will manufacture more than contracted to....things like buttons/snaps will be diferent-real deals there.

Thing to watch for is counterfit goods, real 'shoddy' merchandise. This crap actually has the brand name, most of it falls apart in use. There are Pro V1 golf balls in many flea markets for example, Titleist doesn't even make those balls in China. Just hit one and you'll know the difference :D

Same with the golf clubs available, seeing the counterfit Callaway composite driver heads would scare me away from buying a OPS from China.

A friend bought some Innovative sticks in Mexico about 5 years ago, if it makes sense that product is actually manufactured there you may find some deals. I bought 'seconds' on jeans from factory reps also, often whole 'runs' are rejected for a flaw....with sports equipment product being a second may be unimportant(cosmetic blemish) or could affect performance.

your bigger problem is gettin the sticks delivered.

you will have to know importing laws for your country...

you will have to wire payment for $25000,

you will need to pay for shipping, and have a customs broker clear the goods for you. pay import duties and taxes.. and then arrange for the customs broker to deliver the item from vancouver or LA to your final destination..

FOB = Freight on board (no insurance, if the boat sinks.. you dont get your sticks) once the sticks are on the boat.. they get paid.

all this would have to be done on "good" faith.. of course you can arrange for some one to verify that the goods are on the boat before releaseing payment..

but they cant inspect quality..

its a very complicated process.. and at $55? you would never be able to make any money on it...

even if the stick turned out to be a top of the line stick..

who would believe you? how could you sell 500 sticks for much more than $60..

There is a huge difference between counterfeit products and those made to the specification of the manufacturer. The majority of manufacturers have their sticks made in China, and I believe Calloway has their drivers made there.

I wouldn't be surprised if this factory does manufacture for other companies, although their prices seem high for those quantities.
