Online retailers now able to post prices for Hi-end Easton?

Recommended Posts

Maybe this has been touched on in other topics but I guess I missed it... The big online sites now list the prices for Synergys and Stealths whereas you used to have to call the store to find out the price of the item. It was my understanding that Easton and other manufacturers forced this on the retailers... Anyone know why they changed policy? Did they finally get enough retailers and customers complaints? Is Bauer the only brand that still practices this policy?

Does the MAP Policy work the same as the automotive aftermarket industry?

Companies are making anyone who is a dealer sign a legal document that states we will not sell under MAP or we will be terminated as a dealer and you can't be a dealer unless you sign the document. So far it is working out great for us on the manufacturers that have adapted the policy.

Before this document was implemented, There were lawsuits because manufacturers were eliminating dealers that violated MAP Pricing. Apparently the manufacturers were loosing because they didn't have the right to terminate them for something they didn't agree to when they signed up as a dealer.

My guess would be some sort of time limit has expired, as most of the major e-tailers did it about a month and a half ago. Maybe it has something to do with next year's stock coming in as well.

because some LHS charge more than that. It all depends on how much buisness they do, the more buisness they do the less they have to charge to break even let alone make a profit.
