Easton S11 gloves vs. Warrior Dolomite gloves

Recommended Posts

I am looking at upgrading my old gloves and have settled on these two - I think. Any input would be helpful. The dolomites seems to have a thumb lock that is more restrictive, can't tell if that should be a concern or not. Has anyone tried either/both of these gloves?

thanks

yeah my lil brother has the Macdaddy's and i would go with the Eastons. The Warriors look ridicilous, and their equipment is pretty whack IMO. Easton has always seemed to have quality gloves.

Both gloves will give you great protection.Myself I would go for the Eastons because they are a more streamlined glove but that's a personal preference. Cosmetically the Eastons look better to me as well. The choice is really up to you. I've heard some good things about the Warriors and seen some actually being worn in the NHL.It's your call brother.

Eastons have always had a weird fit. Shorter fingers and a weird thumb, I've never been able to wear them comfortably. Warriors i haven't tried.

I think Chadd mentioned that the newer eastons will have slightly longer fingers than previous models.

BTW I think the new mac daddy gloves will be available in leather and nylon, if that matters to you.

I know for sure the Mac Daddy Super is a nylon only. Which would make me think the Reg Mac Daddys would be just leather? I could be wrong, but that would be my asumption.

Interesting that you said the Dolomite had the stiff thumb and didnt mention that about the Eastons. There is no break in the thumb in the S11, which turned me off of it right away. I thought it was extremely stiff.

By the way, That mack Daddy Super fits more snug than last years King Pin. I really liked the fit.

Thanks for mentioning the shorter finger fit with the Eastons. I was going to include that in my comments but forgot.I believe Easton has made the fingers longer now in their S series gloves. Tried on a pair of S-7's the other day and found them substantially longer (and more comfortable) than the Synergy version. The thumb is still stiff though and may not be to your liking.

I figured I might as well mention why I didn't feel comfortable in easton gloves:

The fingers are a bit short for my liking, but when you close your hand they seem to fit better. My big issue is with the thumb, there's some sort of seem or something that goes over my knuckle and creates a pressure point. I'm not sure whether it would get better after they're broken in but I'm not willing to risk it. Another reason to try gloves on before you buy.

The fingers were better on the gloves that I tried in Vegas.

I've found with Eastons you need to go up a size in the older Synergy models to get a similar finger length to what you might get in say a pair of Vapors or RBK 6 or 8K's. If you wear a 14 inch glove in either of those two brands you may need to go up to a 15 inch in a pair of Synergy's. One thing for sure the Easton is much stiffer than the other two brands. I can definitely say I like the fit of the Nike/Bauer Vapors above anything I've tried on the market.
