Justin 1933

2008 Mission Product

Recommended Posts

Ouuuuu the Boss is awesome, I really like the gold on the frame => really stylish and top of the line ;) but I don't like the numerous Mission logos on the outsole.

No 688's bearings this year

Why Lieutenant has Swiss one whereas Boss is just with titanium?

And sad that Justin end up his business with mission stuff :(

Mission Titanium was the best that they made. I've only skated on Mission Titanium for the best parts of my hockey career (not too long, but hey, it counts!) I was devastated when mine went out after 4.5 years of solid use, 5 times a week and no cleaning...

And the logos are badass...

Was it ever stated what color the stand alone mission magnesium chassis will be? I've got a fresh pair of s500's sitting in the closet awaiting them.

drunken edit

They have Titanium now? Or did you mean Mag? I'd imagine the Mag might be red.

I think duckjob might have been confused. The Mission Titanium refers to the bearings they had for the top of the line skates. I don't think Mission's ever had Titanium chassis, just Magnesium.

This is why friends don't let friends browse MSH drunk. Magnesium is in fact what I had meant. Just finished reading a thread about titanium bearings and had it stuck in my head. good times.

The new line looks awesome, but $550 for the Boss ... anyone else think its getting way too high for skates? I mean the Wicked 1s had caused huge problems and were $500.

Does anyone know if there is going to be a pre-sale price or is this it?

That is the price....

Mission's cost have gone up year after year and the price points have stayed the same...Sometimes to have the best possible skate made, you have to increase the price.

The are some significant increases in cost of manufacturing lately: labor, shipping, and petroleum based products just to name a few...

Ice hockey skates are cheaper to produce than roller and still running at the $550 range...

So I just got back from Statewars where the new Mission lines were on display...have to say I was not impressed. The BOSS was waaaay heavier which I suppose is a good thing to some people. The Assassin looks much cooler in the pictures...the plaid lacks the glossy finish it appears to have in the pictures. As a life long Mission lover this will be only the 2nd time I wont be purchasing a new pair of skates on release day...and the first time was with the D1C's.

Your loss...Your missing the best skate Mission has ever made...Just ask those who have actually skated it....

hi Justin, I would really appreciate it if you took the time to answer to this post. Every online retailer says the Syndicate line fits true to shoe size. I'm unfortunate that I cannot ry on a pair before I buy so it's up most importance that I get a correctly fitting skate so here are my questions.

Size 8 shoe size equivalent Syndicate Lieutenant?

Width wise how is the skate? Narrow or wide?

Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Regards,

Nelson

The skates DO NOT fit true to Shoe size.

I have found the following:

Shoe size 10 and under: These fit 1 full size under (some even 1.5 under)

Shoe size 10.5 and above: These fit 1/2 size under (a few people fit 1 full size)

Me personally: 10 shoe...8.5 skate

I can't really comment on the width, but If you have a wide foot, go with the E/EE

Justin

agreed. the boss was the most responsive, and most comfortable skate i have been on. the top speed with the vanguard chassis is incredable, the hyper wheels are good, hopefully i just got a bad batch when i bought them serpratly, and the bearings that mission puts out there is always good quality in my mind.

Hi Justin and sorry to bother again but here it goes... In terms of comparison with the CCM PF Vector line I wear a size 6.5 D width. Is it possible for you to suggest the same size in the Syndicate line?

Thanks alot for your help.

while justin is away, ill give you my comparison. i BELIEVE the vectors should be the same legnth as the RBK skates, i wear a 9k in the size 9E, in the boss i would wear a size 10EE for the same proper fit. hope that helps.

Did you skate them? If you put them on a scale I would challeng you to find more than an ounce difference per skate. No one who has skated them has said they are anything but amazing. I don't think you would notice any weight difference once they are on your feet. The old saying goes something like "you can lead a hockey player to gear, but you cannot make them use it".... Or something like that.

With that in mind probably my best bet would be a size 7 Lieutenant... I'm afraid to order and get something that doesn't fit. With reagrds to comfort and break in what are your opinions?

i only skated in the skate for about an hour, but it was the most comfortable skate out of the box, so essentially there was no break in at all. i was at the second day of the road trip for all the new products so the skates were essentially brand new. great skate all in all.

thats why you should order them from inline warehouse. free shipping on anything over 100 bucs and free shipping on returning skates.

I was just going to say the same thing as Nicky. Inline warehouse is pretty awesome for stuff like that, if they don't fit it really isn't a huge deal to send them back and get another size.

Inline/Ice Warehouse just started a new policy....where you can purchase skates, try them on and send them back for a full credit. So you can either take store credit and have them send you back another size, or a full refund. Pretty kickin for an online retailer to start a service like that.

but you have to ship them back, which sucks for goalie stuff.

it was more awesome before, when it was free shipping over $75, and there was also a time when you could get a free IW stick bag, or a shirt when you order is over $75. I split my order and got both :D

I don't feel it will be a loss at all...my wicked 1's are absolutely perfect. I don't think the Boss has anything that is in any way "better" in terms of performance than the 1's, if anything it seems like a downgrade. Please tell me other than the extra padding added to improve immediate comfort, what about the Boss is an upgrade over the 1's? I leave it to you Justin to change my mind. :)
