Pump Tacks vs Rbk 9k/5k

Do the new Rbk skates still have the issue the old Pump Tacks had? Meaning that the heel/ankle lock would loosen after time, requiring me to constantly pump my skates?

mine do, but i've had them for a looong time and at least they still work.

Even without pumping the skates are great. It is easier to "pump up" once in a while as opposed to tighting your skate laces IMO.

I have the RBK 5K skates mine also needed a pump up during a game. It is really why I stopped using them. Not to hi-jack the tread, but can anyone compare the non-pump RBK fit to the pump models? I imagine the fore foot and mid foot are the same, but how does the heel fit with padding vs the air bladder. I'm thinking about getting the 4k because I just don't like the pump, would rather control the fit with lacing. Thanks!!

Thanks but they don't have a 8D left and I'd need to be sure of the fit difference before I bought online. My LHS is out of stock until mid month so I am mostly just trying to educate myself until they stock up. They have taken good care of me so I am willing to pay extra to give them my business.

I'd have to be dead on sure I like the skate and it would have to be a massive deal before I'd not spend my money with them. ( and they would encourage a massive deal)

I had 5k's and currently have 9k's. After a while the air seems to seep out just a little bit but not too bad. And for the people that think its such a hassle to pump it up in the middle of a game, no offense but suck it up haha...Its a lot better than unlacing the whole thing...

I've had my 9k's since last April. I pumped them up then, same air is still in them.

I don't ever need to re-lace my skates in the middle of the game.

So Jimmy you don't let the air out of your 9K's? Interesting.
