I actually enjoyed the new album, it shows that they are maturing. I was just listening to Sirius and the band was talking and they said the same thing, they were kids when they made Hybrid Theory, becoming men when they made Meteora and now they are adults when they made Minutes.

Its too bad they took so much time off. They're easily one of the best rock bands of the late 90s. I know its stupid thing to say nowadays but Linkin Park is amazing. Joke all you want, you can't deny their success or their cross over appeal. Not alot of rock bands have been able to make that jump and steer away from pop tunes. I haven't heard the new album yet but im sure they will have 5-6 hits off of this cd to.

You mean the late '90s that they weren't even around for?

ditto

hybrid theory - 2000

meteora - 2003

to expand, i think it's better to take a little more time to make a good album with more than just 2 or 3 decent songs instead of trying to bang out a few hits every year and coming out with mostly garbage. obviously the downside is that your songs pretty much get beat to death while the public waits for a new cd... their remix of hybrid theory was almost as good if not better than the original and their stuff with jay-z wasn't bad either. i'd take an original remix of a good song over a new bad song anyday, but some people might feel differently.

i've had the new cd on my computer for a few days but haven't heard it the whole way through yet. from the samples i've heard, it seems like another quality album. I think it will get better as i listen to it more and adjust to the somewhat more "mature" sound as people are calling it...

I just bought this CD off of itunes today, only cost I think 11 or 12 dollars compared to 15-16 in the store. I had downloaded some of the new songs previously, and probobly could have found the entire CD for free by now since its been out for almost a day, but I actually payed for it so that I have guaranteed correct versions that arn't messed up at all.

After listening the whole way through, and owning every LP CD since hybrid theory, I must say I like the CD. You can definately hear and tell they spent more time and more thought went into the CD.

I've been reading online whatever I can find about the new CD and what its all about and what they're trying to portray, and its some very cool stuff.

I recommend ya'll give it a try..

thanks;)

downloaded it (for free of course...) about 10 days ago.

eh, it's ok. You can tell they're growing up a little.... might like it a little better after a few more runs through...

Not at all. Nor would I be disappointed if the new LP disappeared too.

It's okay, nothing that I thought was especially worth while. IMHO, it's been down hill since Hybird Theory.

Considering the crack downs of late going on a public internet forum and bragging about having priated material is fairly stupid.

Linkin Park is starting to remind me of Pearl Jam in a way. Hybrid Theory and Ten were big albums and die hard fans will always love them but then the bands both started to mature and go into different musical directions, LP started using different instruments in songs and the songs touched on important subjects like the war, etc. Pearl Jam also did the same thing, they also started using different instruments and changed up their sound, they've gone from Grunge (Ten), Punk (Vs. and Vitalogy), Garage Rock (No Code and Yield), Art Rock (Binaural), Folk Rock (Riot Act) and then back to straight ahead rock with the newest album (Pearl Jam)

I miss the days when everything was $9.99 on iTunes.... now they capitalize on a sure-shot seller, and charge $12.

I agree, but its still a few bucks cheaper than going to the store. Plus you get the thing that lets you look at the booklet, I think its a .pdf file and the booklet is very high quality and not distorted or anything. Not to mention, click buy and about 4 seconds later its on your computer and don't even gotta put your drink down :).

Was at Walmart today and saw the CD for 15.99..

just a quick question here but the beginning of the song 'Until the End' from their Minutes to Midnight album sounds very familiar, I am almost sure there is another song out there that has a similar beginning, would anyone here know the name of that song??

i liked their old stuff more, not such a fan of the new album. They really should change up their sound once every couple of songs because when i heard minutes it seemed like it was just one very long song. Just my Opinion
