Senior Butt End and tenon dimensions

Could anyone help me out with the dimensions of Senior butt ends and tenon dimensions? I have no sticks with me here plus all my sticks at home are taped up to boot.

Also, can anyone tell me which wood is used for butt ends?

Most butt ends are either three or seven inches at the shops.

Are you making your own? 1" x 5/8" for the tenon...1.25" x 3/4" for the butt end. Lengths are up to you. Most likely made of hickory or maple, but even softwoods(pine/poplar which are lighter) will work, since your aren't going to break the end plug in half...

Well, depends. If youre using a 10-12'' plug, you just might.

i was using probably a 6 inch-ish wood plug one night and the thing snapped in a weird way. kind of looked like a dagger of sorts

Pass on the pine and poplar...I tried that as I had pieces lying around in bout the general shape of a 3" butt end. So I cut it and sanded it to the dimensions...took bout two shots and the damn thing snapped.
