Cleaning fitted cap in dishwasher?

Hey, I have a white fitted new era cap and as you all know white gets dirty. So I want to clean it, but with past experience I know that if I wash it the hat will loose its form and will get all wrinkly. I've heard that if you put it in the dishwasher the hat will be clean and wont loose its shape. Has anyone tried his?

Get it dry-cleaned.

Plus the heat from the dishwasher water/dryer will destroy it.

ive washed hats in the dishwasher, it worked fine aslong as you put it on the top rack, but if you curve the bill at all then it will loose the curve and you will have to redo it, i dont curve mine at all so its not an issue, but some people say the bill gets less stable and they cant get it back to where they had it.

There's a plastic wire container that's specifically designed to hold the cap's shape in the dishwasher.

You don't want to wash wool hats - they will shrink. That's why 59/50s say "Dry Clean Only."

The new 59/50's aren't wool anymore. They changed them for this season, they are 100% polyester now. They also made the undervisor of the brim black to reduce glare and they are using a new material to keep moisture away

Ahh you are right...I forgot they changed that this year.

No more balding baseball players - since wool doesn't breathe well, it kills your hair follicles.

It's weird though, since they went to the new style. The hats fit differently, it feels and looks alot deeper than the older ones. I mean it sets lower on your head but it also looks bigger. If that makes any sense

I stopped wearing 59/50s when I started to shave my head. It just doesn't sit right on my head. I have to rock lo-pro hats.

I just started wearing them more often cause I'm growing my hair out and don't feel like having it in my eyes a majority of the time.

the new 59/50 material seems to be more irritating to me. when it sits on my ears it almost rubs where the older ones were alot more comforable, and they do seem to be ALOT deeper making it look like im smuggeling drugs under my hat at all times

i agree. i hate my new tigers 59/50 hat! I cut out all the plastic mesh out crushed it and it still looks like a 10 gallon baseball cap. I need to go get a low profile one too.

just use cold water, shrink it down to your head.

Cotton Twins Enterprise Franchise hats are the only caps I can rock nowadays. These you can dishwasher or not, they were made to be beaten up. Like Mike Ribeiro.
