CCM Vector 6.0 (and 4.0) skate questions

Recommended Posts

Hi

I thought my RBK 5K pumps would fit perfectly but i tried on some CCM vector 8.0 skates (D width) the other day and found that they fit even better ,much tighter around the ankles and just an all around better fit.

So i want some vector skates for the next season, but i cant efford the v 8.0 or 10.0 ..

The 6.0 sound like a good mid-end skate for the price but the problem is that they are not available in D widths in Europe! So my first question to all the europeans on here:

Do you know any european source for vector 6.0s in D widths??

The Vector 4.0s are available in D (and only D..) in europe, but i fear that these are soft low end skates (they didnt have them in the shop).

And this is my 2nd question:

How are the 4.0? (much worse compared to the 6.0?)

I'm used to the RBK 5K "stiffness" and in general i like skates that are not too stiff, so would you say the 4.0 are okay to use until i can efford the 8.0 or 10.0?

If your planning on getting the Vector 8 or 10 anyways try to tough it out with your 5K's until you can afford tthe Vectors. Your 5K's are more comparible to the Vector 6's in quality. The Vector 4 is a lower end skate. Relax and save your money for what you want. A different model skate isn't going to make a big difference in your game performance, that is up to you. Why spend the money twice. I know it's a buzz to get yourself a new pair of blades but your 5K's are a pretty decent skate and should last you another year until you can afford what you want. By the way, the "D" width is a very common width so finding a pair shouldn't be a big problem. Finding a "C" or "E" width would be a bit more difficult.

thx for your reply duch!

I need new skates anyways because i converted the 5Ks to inline skates at the end of the ice season (no ice untill mid september ..)

I planned to get an other pair of 5ks for next season.

But now i think vectors would be a better choice for my feet.

V 6.0 would be good enough but they are not available in D widths. I know D is very common but the european importers only import lower end models in one width (4.0 D, 6.0 E, 8.0 D, 10.0 D/E).

So im thinking about getting the V 4.0 for the beginning of the season until i can efford the 8.0

But if anybody knows a place in europe where i can get the 6.0 in D widths?!

A different model skate isn't going to make a big difference in your game performance, that is up to you.

True! thats what practice is for ;)

you sure can imagine that i wont get low end skates for a better performance :D

the 4.0 is actually good but not the best. i use to have a pair of 4.0's and i can say that it is pretty stiff for a low end boot because of the exo-skel. you probably won't like the foam because it is cheap foam, and i got blisters from it. hope this helps.^^ but it is heavy the skate

thanks for input swede and shifter!

I actually thought about ordering a pair of 6.0s from the USA, would be cheaper (shipping included) than to buy them here .. but i heard shops are not allowed to ship ccm products outside the usa?!
