New Jofa OPS

Recommended Posts

I saw a brand new Jofa OPS yesterday at Sport Swap.

There was a Junior, Intermediate and Senior model all of which were white with graphics very similar to those found on the Jofa web site.

The only pattern available was named "Sedin" and the staff didn't have any information on other patterns.

They were fairly cheap (starting at $100 CAD for the Junior model, $110 CAD for the Intermediate and $125 CAD for the Senior model).

They didn't feel too bad for balance but I didn't have much time to look them over.

Does anyone have any more information on them?

P.S. I'd imagine that this OPS will be one of the choices available to players in the AHL next season along with the CCM Vector series (100, 110, 120) and Koho Revolution 4490.

i went to my LHS, and everyone at the store liked it, but they said it broke quite a bit.. it wasn't too sturdy or something like that... they said the sherwood momentum was better, for the price at least.

The Jofa OPS is not listed on the Jofa web site.

Could they be a SMU? I don't remember hearing about them from the guys who went to the show.

I doubt they are SMU. Sport Swap only has three locations and they are all in Calgary so I doubt they would want the name of a Vancouver Canuck on an SMU OPS.

Interesting, so they finally made an OPS afterall? Last year I saw a Jofa OPS at a game that looks like the one in the link (I tried to memorize it and drew this when I got back home), but it sounds like the one you saw is totally different? Wonder what I saw, maybe it was a prototype being tested? I emailed Jofa about it and attached the picture, but they never wrote me back.

Jofa OPS as seen last season

That looks exactly like a response that was tampered with using some graphics program. i doubt Jofa would have 2 huge black marks and a Jofa sign in the middle. My conclusion is its a computer generated prototype.

Well duh, I said I made that stick on the computer, that's what the stick I SAW looked like, but it's a pic made by me (yes, using a Response as the base stick as the yellow color was pretty much the same as a Response, and that way I didn't have to redraw the stick from scratch anyway) to show what it basically looked like. :P

As most (if not all) of us know, Jofa and Koho are part of The Hockey Company/CCM so I wonder if it has roots in the Vector line. Good durability, but not a lot of snap.

Chadd, yeah it could've been a Koho with Jofa graphics since they're both part of the same company, although the Koho's yellow is more a neon yellow and this one was a "warmer" somewhat more reddish orangeish yellow, like the Response. But then of course, the light at the rink where I saw it is kinda bad and it's sort of dark in there. But it'll be interesting to see the Jofa OPS once they hit the stores here (they don't carry any hockey stuff here in town during the summer as it's soccer season here now lol).
