Dolo blade chipping

Recommended Posts

i have only been on the ice about 4 times with my dolomite blade and it is chipping faster then i expected. the chipping is mainly in the heel. has anyone who has a dolomite/dolomite blade/warrior stick noticed this?

Wow that seems pretty bad for 4 ice times. Try taping the area if you don't already , and maybe you are hitting to much ice on slapshots? Just a couple of thoughts to look for.

lol. Most of my blades end up like that. I don't notice any difference in performance.

CCC8: What curve is it that you have?

Mine have chipped a little in the heel, nothing major.

robitaille.

i dont really take that many slapshots, and havent had the blade long enough to get angry with it, lol. although im not ruling out that the chips could be due to mechanics, is it possible that it could be a slight defect?

now that i think about it, i should've mentioned that the 2 holes on the heel were there when i recieved the blade, but have gotten worse.

I had a Robitaille and the same exact thing happened to my Dolo.

Really bad chipping after about 6 ice times and it started to go up vertically through the blade. The blade eventually(2 ice times later)broke right in the heel area.

With my robitaille i had experienced similar chipping as well. Mine lasted for a while without actually breaking though. However when i used a draper blade i didn't have the same chipping. Could it be the lie?

I have a Draper now and I'm having a bit of chipping, but not enough to blow a nut over. Both of them were the same lie. Maybe it's something with Warrior?

Nahhhhh...

I find the blades on the warrior sticks to be vry weak overall. They are a great shooting stick but usually end up spitting or breaking on me within a couple of weeks.

Exactly, warrior blades... well since I've only used the Dolomite... Dolomite blades are really durable. I'm hard on blades too. They keep their stiffness well and mine have never chipped. I ue intermediate Drapers.

So alot of you guy's are using the Robitaille curve, cool.

I've been trying to get some up-close "real" pics of the curve, searched on ebay but only found one semi-decent photo.

If one of you Robitaille users would post some picks, I'd be very happy.

Is the blade longer than e.g. the Smyth (not depth but lenght-wise?)

Its the same thing as the Bauer P71, so you could also try to find pics of that on eBay or something

You know, I never noticed until you just mentioned it, but I have two Warrior blades: a Robitaille and a Federov. I too see that chipping, but only on the Robitaille. Given, part of that could be attributed to the fact that that blade has seen way more time than the Federov, but regardless, still an interesting find.
