Anyone from Chrisitian Custom here

Recommended Posts

Ordered up some custom blades.

Easton Lidstrom modified: change lie to 5, 1/4 longer, shave off 1/4" from the toe corner, loft same or little less

Got the order today.

1/8 longer - Ok

loft - perfect

toe ... - ok . not bad.

lie - EXACTLY same as 2 easton lidstroms i have in my garage (5.5). - NOT OK.

Anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with it? Haven't tried the regular customer service call yet. I sort of dread it. Getting into a pissin' match about half a point on the lie just sucks. But it is custom order and I did not want stock Lidstrom.

Thanks.

Put in the phone call, chances are that you will end up talking to the same person that would end up responding to you here.

Will do. Thanks.

BTW nice blades, dropped one on the scale - a little LIGHTER than z-carbon SI-Core. And only took 2 weeks.

Could be. I've been using composite blades since first easton (GB2 i think it was). Just by a chance I tried a woody a few weeks ago. It sure felt good! That's why i ordered. I figure if the wood lasts me, say, 6 games - the cost may be worth it.

Weigh it after it's absorbed the equivalent of the Indian Ocean.

I didn't have that problem with mine, they aren't like the old blades in that regard.

Take the tape off after every game, it makes a huge difference.

Yes Chadd,

The fiberglass on those looks very good and even - no bubbles or holes of any sort.

No, I emailed with description as above, asking if it was sufficient (Lidstrom being a well known pattern). The rep said yes. I even pointed out that lie should be 5 not 5.5, and if there is a margin for error that it be on the low side (4.75). I checked their site. Their pattern equivalent is listed as 5.5. So I don't think it is variation is scale problem.

The Christian wood blades are very nice and underrated. They have very good feel and are pretty light for a wood blade. They've been much more durable when I've used them as well. The longest I ever had a Bauer One60 last was about 2 games I think...they were awful in my experience.

I've been very happy with mine, as well. They get mushy over time but for me, it took quite a while (months, playing 1-2 times a week).

But, back to his problem. I'd contact someone at their customer service, they're a small company and respond really quickly and intelligently to your problem...as in, they actually read your email and listen to what you are saying. I've called them and emailed back and forth with them about a couple issues. At one point they didn't have a particular pattern in stock on the website, so I called, they had some made up and shipped out to me the next week.

T-Bone--I see your order in our system. I'm sorry the lie is not what you were hoping for. As has been mentioned frequently on Mod Squad, there are a lot of different interpretations in the industry on lies. Irregardless, we want you to be happy with your purchase. Please give me a call at 1-800-346-5055. Ask for David McGowan and I will have a new batch done up for you.

Cheers,

David
