I need a favour....

Recommended Posts

looking at something on ebay there in the US, (I'm in Australia) and they won't ship O/S..... If I got someone there to receive, then ship on, that would be great, and I'll throw in a few extra $$$ on the shipping for your troubles...

I would obviously pay the seller for product and shipping (to you) then pay you for the shipping to me.

I'll probably get a warning for this from mods, but I am really wanting to get this thing.

i will also be willing to return the favour if there is something on Aus ebay that won't ship to you.

Thankyou in advance.

Sounds like a scam...I'm guessing this is a rather expensive product, and that in actuality, you are the seller? Then when some kind poster decides to help you out, they are stuck with the item and never hear from you again...

You're some kind of stupid huh?

Sounds legit to me. He is paying for the product to ship to you first.. How would you be out anything? If he doesn't contact you again, that means you keep is item. No money comes out of your pocket. I have done this for some friends in the UK and haven't had any issues.

Good luck finding somebody mate. I would, but I have too much on my plate right now.

Yea right...you guys really are gullible. I have heard this kind of thing happening to people all the time. they meet someone online, and for whatever reason, the person convinces them to order some item for them, or send out some money somewhere. They might send you a check to pay for the expenses, then after you send out the item or the cash, the check bounces and you are screwed. Seriously, this guy has 22 posts on a board, and you just flat out trust him?

Americans are the only people in the world trusting/dumb enough to fall for this kind of stuff, which is why people in Africa and the middle east have been making a fortune on internet scams.

Short bus alert.

He never said ANYTHING about the person paying for the item. He said he would pay for the item, pay for shipping and thrown in a lil' extra.

What is there to lose?

And sorry skooled but I'm not in the States.

Also, seeing as he would buy it off eBay. Odds are, he is paying with PayPal.

You're a tit, he says clearly "I would obviously pay the seller to ship to you, then pay you to ship to me"

I get stuff my brother/mother or sister order from back home (ireland) sent to me all the time, the I resend it to them, so they don't have to pay 24% VAT.

Also, a lot of e-bay sellers won't ship international, so if he wants the item it has to go this way.

OK, if he's so clearly an honest fellow, you will surely take him up on the offer right? If not, then stop talking. He's an anonymous name on the internet, and is not trustworthy...the only way this would be legitimate is if the guy sends cash beforehand. Otherwise, it could go either way.

I met an elderly woman not too long ago who fell for a similar scam, and basically emptied her entire checking account for a guy she "met" online, someone she spent a lot of time conversing with. He assured payment to her beforehand, the bank accepted his check...when she made the payment, the money dissapeared, and the bank told her the funds from his check were no good. This woman was basically bankrupted, and was so upset that she attempted killing herself. So excuse me for being a bit wary when I see this kind of shit.

Judging by the naivete seen on this board, most of you just don't realize how many people out there are trying to pull one over on you...maybe wait until you get your HS diploma before calling me a "tit". You should learn to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your assets above all else.
