Tackla 4000 Pants at Cyclone Taylor

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any info on the Tackla 4000 Pants available at Cyclone Taylor? The model doesn't appear on Tackla's website. If it is a SMU product exclusive to Cyclone Taylor, does anyone know what model it is based on or equivalent to in the regular Tackla lineup?

Many thanks!

Smiliar to the 900 Advantage which are an older tackla 951. IMO the 4000s don't have enough protection, I had to replace mine after getting a bruise the size of a football on my thigh.

I concur. Very nice looking pair of hockey pants. I can't comment on the protection part because just haven't seen them anywhere here but in general Tackla makes decently protective pants. I have the 5000 and are totally satisfied with the protective quality and the range of movement with them. The 4000 does look a lot like the 951's and I had a pair of them a while back and they where fairly decent as well.

Sorry for restarting an old thread, but there wasn't a whole lot of info on them, I know they say similar to the 951, which there is some info on.

I was just wondering if anyone who has used these can tell me what type of protection/fit/durability the 4000 has?

I play high level men's league, will they do? Or should I go up to the 5000/9000 range?

Thanks

If you can afford it, by all means go for the best pant you can. Falling on your tailbone in cheap pants is freaking horrible. Your whole spine rings like a tuning fork.

If you are playing at a high level I would definitely upgrade to the 5000 or 9000. Better safe than sorry.
