Pro Shop worse repairs

Recommended Posts

Assuming the skates went in to that shop stock, they owe you new ones. If they refuse I'd take them to small claims court. That's brutal.

It looks as though they moved the holders to the insides of the skates (to correct pronation?) but did so by stretching the holes on the holders, as opposed to doing so on the boots outsole itself. Then again, they just may not have a steady hand.

If the holes in the bottom of the boot were not widened, and none were added, it may be possible to just have new holders and RMS hardware installed and they'll be no worse for wear.

Holy mother of god. And I thought my skates got raped...

If you really want to do that guy a favour, write up a little informal affidavit: nothing fancy, just describe what's wrong with the materials and workmanship, explain how the skate has been damaged, sign & date. That gives him something to take back to the other shop and shove in their faces if they try to jerk him around.

Is the back end of the left skate's holder hanging over the side of the boot? That's brutal. What did he originally go into the store asking to have done?

What are those (the hardware)? They don't look like any skate rivets I've ever seen. Also, those are graf holders mounted or re-mounted on a pair of grafs...how could someone screw that up so bad? I'm not an expert, but it seems like that would be a pretty straightforward job.

The guy has been skating for about 2 months, and he bought a previous pair there that they also messed up. He brought them back saying he needed something comfortable. They also sized him a size and a half to big on top of screwing his skates up
