LHS in Florida and Charlotte

Recommended Posts

I live in Tampa and am wondering if there are any LHS in FL that might be better than the shops we have at our area rinks. Anyone know of a good one? Maybe in the Orlando or Miami areas?

Also, I get to Charlotte, NC at least 4 or 5 times a year and when I lived there (5+ years ago) there was pretty much nothing. Has anything opened up in the recent past?

My old store in Orlando has actually improved from the last time I visited it. Still kinda lean in terms of product but they're good in terms of sticks.

I saw David when I was in town earlier in the month.

It's actually Casselberry, where my family lives.

Not much product in there, he's got Easton (which RDV does not have) but pickings are very slim.

Looking for hockey gear in the sunbelt is not a very worthwhile endeavour. Pickings are slim and diversity of different brands is also very minute. The big games down there are football and basketball with a little baseball thrown in.

what kind of stuff are you looking for?

maybe a new shaft or reasonably priced OPS, but nothing too specific at the moment. more or less I'm just wondering what's out there as far as options go.

My store was fully stocked 4 years ago.

Have you ever been to a store in the Southeast?

is there a store in the southeast that is head and shoulders above the rest? even if it's within 8-10 hours of Tampa I might be willing to make the trek. I'm going to need new skates soon, but my feet are so jacked up I have to have a lot of options to try on. When I lived in NC a friend mentioned a store in the Atlanta area that was really big, good selection, etc., but that was at least 6 or 7 years ago.

The Carolina Ice Palace in Charleston, SC. Over 5000 square feet in the shop, and has a great selection. :D

Someone's pimping his own store :P

Thanks, JR, I purposely didn't state that it was my store. But now that you mention it, we are definitely the place to go if you are by. Not too many other stores in the southeast can say that they have $500K worth of inventory. Ask for Brandon. :D

ePuck can, but they don't have much of a storefront. So can Southern Sports Supply.

But yeah, for a rink shop, your store is pretty big...

I miss having inventory. Damn fire.

I sure hope you turn it before you have to count it for year-end numbers!!

I count it monthly for inventory. I admit I do cut a few corners, but for the most part, I'm pretty thorough.

Yeah, ePuck and SSS both sell online. We are strictly brick and mortar. But thanks for the kind words. And sorry about the fire. I saw the article about your rink in the latest STAR network email. Nice to hear that things are getting closer to being back to normal.
