Just received my One90 shaft

Recommended Posts

I currently use an AK27 100 flex shaft but decided I wanted something with more flex (like my old Louisville whip flex shaft). Since the One90 is reasonably priced for a high-end shaft, I found an online retailer that had a 77 flex in stock. I just received it yesterday and the shaft is much longer than my AK27 shaft (which I didn't have to cut down). The One90 shaft has flex markings on it for where you cut it down, and I had to cut off almost 5 inches to make it the same length that I normally use. So now my 77 flex is almost a 100 flex. I'm pissed. Flex is almost the same as my AK27 and nowhere near as whippy as my TPS shaft. Oh well.....maybe it will break soon and i'll just pick up an 85 flex AK27.

You might want to give CCM/RBK int standard shafts a try as they are 51" to start with so you'll only need to cut maybe 2 inches off them. Or an Int One90 if you can handle the smaller dimensions. Eastons are pretty short too.

You made two mistakes.

1. Should have checked the length of the shaft before buying it.

2. When you got it and seen you was going to have to cut alot of it off and knew that cutting that much length off would make it more stiff, you should have sent it back or sold it. That way you wouldn't have wasted your money and now hoping that a shaft, that I'm sure alot of people would love to have, breaks.

Makes me sick when people just go and waste money like that.

Does anyone have an approximate weight of this shaft? None of the online stores list it and i know NBH no longer list the weights, I was just curious. I want to buy a shaft with a bunch of kinda cheap blades purely for shooting practice so i'm not beating the hell out of my OPSs. Do people recommend this shaft as a durable well performing shaft?

The ONE90 is a great shaft. Its incredibly balanced and my 87 flex, which I didn't cut down, has more whip then my 75 flex Warrior Dolomite shaft. The added two inches isn't bad either, it can really help your defensive game.

Yes, you are correct in that I just should have returned it. But I actually didn't see the flex markings until I started sawing away, so returning it was moot at that point.

ps- Mack, I hope to visit you at a comedy club in Cincinnati soon!
