RBK 5K Elbow Pads

Recommended Posts

What does everyone think of the RBK 5k elbow pads? Im pretty sure Im gonna get these but I wanted to hear people's opinions first. I also like the 6k but they seem a bit bulky aswell as the Sealth elbow pads

A tad bulky but it's not too bad. But I hate the straps...well at least the middle strap. Idk if they changed it or not for this years model though. But these are definitely an improvement over my previous elbow pads and have not had any issues protection or fit-wise other than the one strap.

i have last years model (-06).. I dont find it bulky at all, it protects fine and it sits nicely on the elbow.

But there is a big downside. The 2 lower straps are way to short to fit anyone with big arms. So try them on before you buy them.

I bought mine on closeout from greatskate, and ended up modifying them alot!

I have the new 5k model and I expected them to feel really bulky, considering my previous pads were 14 year old ccm powerline pads that didn't have any plastic in them or anything. They were more like elbow cushions. Anyway, once I went on the ice, it was like I wasn't wearing anything.

I would recommend that you try them on before buying, because the sizes may be different. As far as numbers go I should be a small, but the medium fit me perfectly.

Protection with these pads not an issue. As previously mentioned try them on and keep them on for a little while to make sure you get the proper size and their reasonably comfortable. I have the 7K's and they are the best elbow pads I've ever owned although my Easton 900's are also very good pads as well but I only use them for pickup.IMO RBK/Jofa make the best underneath protection of any of the major equipment providers.
