I went to the game today, we managed to get front row seats so I've taken the liberty of putting up some of the pics. Was a great game and some amazing atmosphere. The o2 was a great new Arena, I just wish we had this all the time here in the UK.

I caught the game on HDNet. Looked amazing in hi-def. Shame that it took so long to turn the lights on! I'm sure they'll fix that for tomorrow's game. Oh, and maybe teach the anthem singer the actual lyrics, too! I cringed when she started "busting a freestyle."

Was is just me, or was this game very sloppy? The calls were tight, the ice looked crappy, and the pucks seemed to have a mind of their own.

The O2 looked like a hell of a venue, though.

I was there, haven't been to any NHL games in a while and the 1 thing I forgot which really pee'd me off was TV breaks. I think due to the amount of neutral fans and mixed fan seating there was not much atmosphere at all, I have no idea why it's down on Nhl.com that there was because it was silent pretty much all the way through.

Good weekend though, aside from getting lost in Covent Gardens...

Also German and Finnish people are hilarious, pure legends!

He was matched against Bertuzzi a lot in the 1st game, and did pretty well.

i absolutly loved the weekend! only made it to the sunday game and it was great, atmosphere was good imo but it seems weak when you compare it to our elite league games where we almost always have the entire arena chanting singing ect. but near me there was a kinbgs fan in the second shouting at LaBarbera saying "It's all your fault!" over and over again which kept me laughing for a while o and on the other side there was a ducks fan with a kazoo who i think was expecting them to change shirts in the 3rd and have them come out and do a flying V...

The arena was brilliant, probobly saying this because i was on the front row behind the goal which Hiller started in (if you have the game taped id be intrested to see if i made on tv wearing my caps shirt :D) the stuff that was going on to entertain fans was also good during the ad breaks so i wasnt all that bothered i think it was great when the camera went on this little kid and he didnt realise it so everyone around him start poking him to get his attention and he slowly looked up and started grinning....

I went to london for the whole weekend and did some sight seeing before the game and i saw the crown jewls in the tower of london, the houses of parliment and all that but nothing compared to when i stepped into the O2 and saw the stanley cup! that really made my weekend being just inches from the real thing was incredible!

Now for the game itself. I was disapointed that i didn't get to see Giguere play due to injury, a curse that seems to follow me as the day i booked my seat for my first NHL game (devils@caps) it came to light that Kolzig would be sidelined for a while, then got to the rink and Broduer sat on the bench so i'm waiting to see a real star netminder. Hiller really stepped up last night and played very well in my opinion and he made some key saves to keep the ducks in it and could be a big name in the future. At the other end of the ice LaBarbera didn't seem to be playing as well as he should and will need to step it up a bit.

The Ducks seemed to be ready for the Kings and they just shut them down at the back while their offence showed alot of promise aswell. Getzlaf and Perry impressed me alot.

Alot of good hitting aswell which is something we dont see often in the eihl because of poor refs bad interpretations of the zero tolerance rules the guys are often scared about finishing their hits.

The Kings in my opinion aren't going to be realistic challengers for the cup but could cause a few upsets and sneak into the playoffs.
