Recommended Posts

Didn't see any reviews in the protective equipment section, so i figured id ask here. I'm considering these shinpads and dont know anybody who has them so im hoping to get some feedback and reviews if possible.

Thanks

Good pad, great price. One of our better sellers.

As Jr stated.. The fuel 110 is good, decent price (even here in Sweden).

The only thing i didn't like about them was the hyper-x protection.

I use a Jofa euro shin pad without hyper-x, and i only fasten my shins with a elastic strap on the top of the calf, just below the knee.

And in this case the hyper-x extension on the fuels forced mee to fasten the shin pad strap a bit lower than im used to, which made the shinpad slide uppwards and interfear with the pants.. They had a great fit, but i couldn't get used to the hyper-x ext..

So i sold my fuel shins to a teammate and he seem very satisfied with them

I have the 85's. I had to heat up and flatten the bottom to accommodate my skates (I wear the pads outside the skates, and they were too narrow). I feel shots on them more than I did off my old Bauer, but they are comfortable. If you block a lot of shots I'd go higher end, if I were you.

I play beer league and use the 85s. Great shin pad. I was looking for something that wasn't bulky and still provided decent protection for a good price. These are perfect. Very light and comfortable. Don't require tape or straps either, because of the velcro wrap on the calf.

I find the Mission shins a little wide for my liking, but from what I can see, and what guys who have them tell me, they are a decent shin pad. I was actually going to pick up a pair of Fuel 85's for my son last weekend at National Sports but ended up getting him a pair of RBK 4K's instead because they are slimmer at the bottom of the pad. I've tried the Fuel 110's and they are a very comfortable and protective pad.

got the full line of fuel 85 pads from work (cept the pants, fuel 90). havn't tried the elbow pads yet but the shinpads are pretty comfortable. i second the comment about the velcro strap - its nice and wide and i won't be buying clear tape in the near future.

If your looking for decent protection and reasonable price Mission the way to go. Most of the equipment I have tried from them is top notch stuff especially their high end. They don't advertise their stuff the way they should and I think they should, because it would help their sales against the big three ( RBK, Nike/Bauer, Easton), and make them a little more of a houshold name when it came to hockey. I will be replacing a lot of my equipment with Mission stuff when it is worn out simply because it is a better bang for the buck. I for one am getting tired of shelling out mega bucks for new stuff.

Nothing new I can really add to this thread that hasn't been covered, other than to +1 everything that has been said.

I've used Mission 85's and 110's and you're really not going to find a better pad for the money. There are tons of pads on the market to choose from, but I keep coming back to Mission for their comfort and protection.

As someone else pointed out, Mission doesn't really market their product in the same way others do, but it's EVERY bit as quality - if not better - than many others. I've been using the L7 skate since I don't know when, and even bought backup pairs when HG was blowing them out.
