cutting a hosel?

On a standard hosel could you cut a portion of the hosel off to lighten it? Or would this effect performance?

u mean the tennon right? i do that sometimes.....doesnt make that much of a difference unless u cut a lot off

I dont think thats a smart thing to do. It might affect the flex of the shaft.

but i was thinking because i saw afew innos and they had really short tennons.

I've never tried it, but remember hearing a feww people tested it out and liked it. If you have the time I'd give it a shot, I don't see how it would negatively effect anything other than length. That's if you do it right and don't give it a hack job. Take your time be careful, it should work out well.

I've seen pro Kovys with holes drilled through the tennons.

He cuts the tenon(1 cm) and after he drills 2 holes(3 inches long). I have one of his like this but it's not all of his that are like that.

Don't cut the blade tennon to short. the blade won't have a strong hold in the shaft and it could damage it,crack it most likley.
