ThePurpleCobra 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 over the past few weeks my one90's have begun to erode if that is the right word, where the boot is a attached to my runner there is basically no material there. Is this terms for a new a pair of skates or can this be repaired somehow?http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/5159/1009071342bvd4.jpghttp://img408.imageshack.us/img408/4303/1009071342aqt4.jpghttp://img115.imageshack.us/img115/4729/1009071342hp6.jpg

Spreedizzle 1 Report post Posted October 9, 2007 That's crazy....I have never seen anything like that on a hockey skate before. How long have you been using the skates, and what extraneous things did you do to them?? :(

Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 That was my suspicion.... just wondered if someone really would soak skates in water intentionally and, if so, the reason why (to get stink out?)

ThePurpleCobra 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 How does the area look around the rivets?there basically isnt anything holding the rivets to the boot its just alittle rubber or whatever that material is holding it in,If you move the boot around you and see the rivet isn't really held in

oilers4ever 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 honestly im not suprised to see those pics at all. ive personally seen three or four pairs of one 90's come back after approx 6-7 months falling apart in different ways. these skates are made for performance not durability. i know it kills people that they fall apart so fast but that the reality, i wouldnt expect more than a year use out of the one 90's if youre playing 3 times a week or more
ThePurpleCobra 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 How did you store them when you weren't playing?i keep them in the skate pocket that is part of my bag
oggy_3 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 that could be a reason why they are wrecked you did not give them enough time to dry. I find even if i dry my skates out and i dont remove the insole rust builds up under the insole.
Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 what the hell are you guys talking about, why would i soak my skates in water?EXACTLY! I (and KillThePoodle I imagine) were curious to know why someone would do that and were merely basing it off of GongShow's response. Since your post was edited, didn't know if you had mentioned soaking it (hence Gong's response) then changed it afterwards (so, chaulk it up to morbid curiousity). It is a very curious pattern/discoloration.... djinferno 2 Report post Posted October 10, 2007 you should always take your skates out of your bag, remove the insole and if possible dry em upside down..., thats how the pros do it anyway
