Yes, the S-9's have the zippers on the inside of the legs. They carry most of the high end features and the protection is second to none. In fact the S-5's also carry the zippers and yes the protection in them is good enough for contact hockey. The S-9's padding is considerably more heavy duty around the leg and hip area because they are considered pro pants. I have the S-5's and find they are suitable for the hockey I play right up to full contact so they suffice for me.

I have the Tackla 9000 Air's I love them except for they are to loose around the leg. I am short and stocky and have a hard time finding a pant that fits properly all around. That's why I liked the concept of the RBK 8K's you can adjust the leg/thigh pad so they are not flopping around. If I could taylor the leg of my Tackla's I would and be done with it. Any suggestions Thanks

a Whole $10 more, the one90's CND are still only $160-$170 at most shops. The Easton S9's retail for roughly $190 and the XXX's are $200. The one90 is actually the lowest priced highend pant on the market and if that's still too much for you, just look at the Supreme 70's that retail at around $130-$140 price range.

I'm kind of torn between the s5's and s9's. I don't think I need all the protection of the s9's, but they're so cheap it's hard not to go for them.

If you can swing the S-9's go for it. Their Eastons high end pants.Better to be a little over protected and not be second guessing your decision later.

I don't know why I didn't buy the S9s. I had the scratch and the reasons for buying them, I just went with the S5s. Not that I regret it, I just wonder why I didn't step it up a bit.

i just got the s9's. i think they're too big. i might have to send them back and get the s5's.
