hockeyplayah18 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 so I went and picked up some Bauer Vapor XXV yesterday since i lost my XX's. after i got done baking and molding them, the guy at the hockey store said it was fine to use them right away...is this true? i always thought there was a 24 hour waiting period to let them set? Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 Let them sit. Better safe than sorry, and the glue should re-cure.
TBLfan 25 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 you need at least 6 hours or so but 24 hours is to be safe and with skates it's better to be safe than sorry.
duch 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 I concur. Wait at least 24 hrs. I know how anxious you are to try them out, but give the glues a chance to fully solidify and set before going out on the rink with them. In the long run you'll be glad you did. dbeck 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2007 My LHS also suggested let them at least cool down overnight after heat molding. I picked up my pair about 2 months ago and just heat molded them recently...wow, it made such a big difference!
