Cutting Thumb on Glove

Recommended Posts

Does Any one cut their thumb on your glove like just the part thats keeps it stuck to the thumb thing so you can move your thumb around more. My buddy who got drafted into the ohl said he does it so i just wanted to know if anyone else did it and whats u thought about it?

Thumb mobility was never really a problem for me, so the thought never entered my mind. However, with my last pair of gloves the plastic broke and it took me a long time to even notice that I could bend it back. Not really a night and day thing I don't think.

If anything I want my thumb to be less mobile. As long as I can get it around my stick, thats good enough for me.

I have broken my thumb and completely destroyed the ligament from having it break backwards (stick your hand in the air like you are waving and try and touch your thumb to your wrist.. Thats what happened to me). It was the most pain I have ever been in.

I just picked up some new vector 8.0s and the thumb will only bend inward it is just as stiff as any other thumb when you try to bend it back. When you drop your stick and have to pick it up with the vectors there is a noticable difference but thats about the only thing i have noticed with them so far.

I am prety impressed with the thumb movement on the NBH 4 Rolls. The Mission m-1 pros had a ton of thumb mobility too.

In every Pic of the New NBH XXXX's I see the thumbs pulled in like a regular finger....look at St. Louis' left hand.....his thumbs always look wrapped around the stick in the stickhandling shots as well.

I do this as well, and I really like the way it allows me to get my hand back on the stick after letting go for whatever reason. That little bit of extra give going back just lets my hand get around the stick quicker. I started doing this after an old coach gave me a pair of his gloves that has this done to them.
